I am a qualified and certified online TEFL English teacher. I am also a qualified IELTS teacher (Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening). I have been teaching for approximately 1 year and have about 2300 (two thousand three hundred) English lessons behind my name. I am a TEFL-certified English teacher, with a background in journalism. During my ten years as a magazine editor, I've gained incomparable experience in correcting and levelling-up people's English skills. Further, I've been teaching English privately for around five years across the UK, Germany and Thailand. As such, my experience lies primarily in one-on-one teaching, which I'm excited to continue here on iTalki. My lengthy experience in the business world has also allowed me to teach business English with confidence.

I love teaching, I have 8 years teaching experience in Thailand, teaching English as a second language (ESL) to a wide range of students from Elementary level right through to PhD Students. I kind of fell into teaching when I came to live here in Thailand, I was asked to help at the local school teaching conversation skills to the local students. I really enjoyed this and wanted to do more, I got the teaching bug! I applied for a TEFL/TESOL course and on completion started teaching at a high school, after a few years I went freelance and started to teach at Universities all over South-east Asia.

I would describe my teaching style as very interactive. I prefer to create a teaching environment that encourages critical thinking and elicits responses from my students rather than having them merely retain and repeat information. I make use of different websites and encourage my students to read to improve both vocabulary and fluency.

In 2008 I enrolled on a teacher training course in Peru and I have been teaching English ever since. I am familiar with the latest TEFL techniques and I will help you learn my language whatever your level. All you need is a little dedication and perseverance! I love my job and I mostly teach adults but also children from age 9 upwards. I have a neutral, easily understood British accent, perfect for teaching English. I have a lot of patience and I am particularly proficient in teaching English to native Spanish speakers, but it really doesn't matter where you are from.

I'm a fun loving person and love teaching people with all that I have. I like to interact on different topics and subjects and make learning easy and seemless. I prefer teaching a language in the form of a casual and fun communication. People can talk to me about anything and everything. I've been teaching and helping my fellow classmates and friends with their communication and few other subjects like space science, technology, automobiles etc.

I have previously worked as an Au Pair in France, teaching both young children and teenagers English. So whether you are a complete beginner or more advanced I am happy to help in any way I can! I also help my language exchange partners with English practice on a regular basis. If you are a French speaker I am also able to explain concepts and grammar points to you in French for further clarification.

Whether you are outgoing or shy, I can guarantee you that we won't run out of things to talk about - besides being a grammar nerd and pronunciation expert, I have the "superpower" of being able to keep up a conversation with absolutely anyone! I provide immediate correction to students. Private classes are the best way for students to identify their recurring mistakes and to get personalized help on the areas that they find difficult or confusing. Sometimes, a gentle reminder is enough, and other times, we will work more thoroughly on a specific pronunciation or grammar point.

Ik volg momenteel dus de opleiding tot docent Engels, met de motivatie om ooit in Hongarije aan het werk te gaan als leraar. As I mentioned, I am doing the education of becoming an English teacher, with the hope of working in Hungary some day. I taught music for two years in Canada, then I moved to China to teach ESL. I worked at a high school, training school and kindergarten. For the past year, I have been teaching online from Indonesia. I have had a diverse range of teaching experiences which helps me to teach a wide variety of students.

I have 3+ years of teaching and tutoring experience in numerous fields like Psychology, Social Work, and Criminology that is all conducted in English. I teach the Shona and English languages from beginner to advanced levels, and I am good at teaching all age ranges, from 10 to 50+ years old! I have taught Shona and English to persons at the high-school level and tertiary levels from diverse backgrounds. I am also currently a psychology tutor for university students, levels 1, 2 and 3.

What I liked the most was the satisfaction of having encouraged someone to see studying as important and not as a boring mandatory activity. I have over ten years of teaching experience in and outside of the classroom. I have taught students ages 11-18 in classrooms in the United States and taught individual lessons to young people and adults in the United States and Spain. I have been teaching English in Korea and the UK for nearly 10 years now. In Korea, I worked at private language institutions such as Wall Street Institute and Direct English where I taught students of various ages and careers. In the UK, I briefly taught in the summer programme at Bristol Language Centre, but I've mainly worked at the University of Bath where I am currently based. I am now working as an educational researcher, but still occasionally teaching students on academic skills. I am also a CELTA qualified teacher with a Master’s in TESOL and PhD in Education.
