When I was in my junior year of college, I did my volunteering as an English teacher for children in the rural area of Thailand for 2 months, Sisaket province to be specific. As for my lessons, I have two different approaches. The first one is a prepared course for beginners in which we will cover all of the steps required for language acquisition. We will proceed slowly, but surely. However, the course is not so rigid that I cannot adapt to the needs of each student. After, we are different people and we progress with our own pace. The second approach is more for advanced students. Together, we set personalized learning goals after considering the student’s requests, along with an examination of any weak spots in language competency.
