I am a native Polish speaker and I decided to be a community tutor here due to the fact that I like to learn languages and teach them as well. I have been learning languages by myself and through conversation for few years so I believe you can do it too! I do my best to provide fun, easy-going and stress-free lessons.

I did my BA in history and political science and I received 2 teaching certificates (Oxford Seminars TESL and Cambridge's CELTA). I first had experience teaching young children in Hong Kong when I was 20 years old. It was an amazing opportunity to learn and travel, though I wasn't quite ready to devote myself to teaching full time. I finished my degree at McMaster university and worked random jobs before becoming a certified teacher in Montreal. I taught in 2 language schools. I started teaching online because my partner and I decided to move to France for a couple of years. Since then I've been working with italki and I absolutely love it.

I am patient and consistent but also with a good sense of humor. I also speak in English and Dutch, which can make our comunication easier if it's needed.

I love custom-tailored classes but I've been also following Oxford University Press course for different-level younger learners (Show and Tell; Let's Go; Oxford Discover) and I have lots of props. The best way to experience the effectiveness of my classes is to book a trial class. My classes offer a variety of topics. You can choose them or let me do the work. Every class is tailored to the individual needs of the student. I want to know your goals. Based upon that we can find the best speed and intensity in your learning process. These will be conversational classes in which you will do majority of the talking. I do want my lessons to be fun so the topics we choose will be chosen with you in mind. I love using books, articles, music and any other artistic bodies of work as a way of teaching and learning and also making it interesting for the student. I might provide homework but it will be something fun that relates to our discussion. F.g. to read an article, song lyrics or simply watch a movie~

I am a very patient, understanding and non-judgmental teacher, my knowledge of Psychology helps me to create a supportive, motivating, and friendly environment for my students. Moreover, I am not only taking into consideration my students’ aims in terms of learning a language but their lifestyle and personality. I believe that finding a ‘middle ground’ where students can feel challenged but not overwhelmed with information about new language is extremely important, especially in hectic everyday life.

I specialize in: 1. Teaching children with the use of TPR (Total Physical Response). 2. Teaching teenagers and adults of all levels. 3. Teaching English for specific purposes: Business English, English for Nurses and Medical Professionals, English for Aviation (pilots, stewards). 4. Exam preparation. I will help you to score high on exams like: FCE, CAE, CPE, IELTS and TOEIC.

I am a language learner myself and this helps me significantly to be a much better teacher. I prefer conversational style and I welcome mistakes as I believe they are natural in any learning process. I am a big believer of feedback. In our lessons I can provide it at certain stages of our lesson (without interrupting you) or after the lesson - whatever suits you better. I like taking notes during the lesson and then sending students feedback using Google Docs. This way you can always easily access your notes. I also like sending students a short voice message on WhatsApp, so they can practise listening and learn how to pronounce new vocabulary.

I used to be an English teacher in Georgia for half a year, I also had several lessons on English, Polish, Italian, and Russian online and at home. It's already more than 2 years since I started teaching Polish and I had students from all over the world. I prefer conversations and using grammar patterns in actual, real sentences than studying various tables with rules, cases, etc. I believe that the best way to learn a language is by listening and trying to imitate what you've heard later on in the speech. I also know what it means to be a student as I take classes on Italki myself. I know how it feels to be "on the other side of the camera" and understand your struggles and problems.

Teaching Polish since 2016, English part-time since 2013. Two times (Nov. 2017 - Feb. 2018, Feb. - March 2020) spent couple of months in Kenya as a teacher in a primary school. I was also working as a translator on documentary film festival: responsible for preparing Polish subtitles to foreign movies and correcting them. I can help you with speaking more confidently, understanding the grammar, reducing the accent and much more!

Generally speaking, I tend to be easy going and endeavor to keep a light-hearted atmosphere. So far I've gained experience teaching Russian speakers, I know which areas might seem a tad cumbersome for them and what their typical mistakes are (knowing Russian really helps to spot minor inconsistencies in their speech:) )

Me as a teacher.... what can I say? I'm super passionate about teaching! And most of my students say that I make learning languages interesting and fun, which is my goal. At the moment, I live and teach English in the sunny Dominican Republic. Professionally, I have over 3 years of experience teaching international students of all ages and levels, in high school, language school and also online. I love having my students engaged and excited to have a class with me and most of all - I want them to fall in love with the language they are learning!
