I have had students from over 50 countries and I constantly help my best students achieve challenging goals, such as becoming Chevening scholars, getting band 8 in IELTS or passing the CPE exam. I help my students improve their English by focusing on speaking skills, effective communication and linguistic awareness. I am currently studying for a diploma in English teaching (DELTA) from Cambridge university and I intend to become an IELTS examiner in the near future.

Teaching is a family profession. Afterwards, I started working very young, and have continued teaching ever since for more than 22 years. I’ve taught various groups: from kindergarten all the way up to post-graduate. A teacher should always study and continue to learn. So through my career I’ve gathered many certificates, diplomas and other documents including TOEFL Test preparation, First Certificate, Advanced Reading, Teaching by Competences, etc. Graduated with a minor in Human Resources, I’ve also studied ESL for business skills like job interviews, accounting, importing and exporting in North America, and customer service.

During the TRIAL LESSON or my SPEAK BETTER ENGLISH IN ONE HOUR CLASS, I will need to do most of the speaking so you learn this new style of speaking quickly. After this you will be doing most of the speaking, and I will be your speaking coach. You can bring your own scripts, presentations, or questions that you want to practice in English. Ik heb ervaring met lesgeven doordat ik dit doe op een middelbare school als stage. Ik volg momenteel dus de opleiding tot docent Engels, met de motivatie om ooit in Hongarije aan het werk te gaan als leraar. De passie voor talen leren en mijn drang om mensen te willen helpen, zijn absoluut een motivatie om tot dit beroep uit te komen. I am experienced with teaching, because I do this at a high school for my internship. As I mentioned, I am doing the education of becoming an English teacher, with the hope of working in Hungary some day. The passion for learning languages and my will to help others, are absolutely a motivation to choose to become a language teacher.

I specialise in teaching English to medical professionals, due to my experience as a doctor, and help them to prepare for OET (Occupational English Test). A good score in the OET will give you, as a medical professional, the opportunity to register, work or study in your chosen English speaking country. I enjoy learning and found out through tutoring that I also enjoy sharing and explaining things to my peers and students. Moreover, they enjoy my energy and seem to benefit from my teaching style, which makes the experience even more fulfilling and motivating! Currently, I teach general English, TOEFL and TOEIC preparation classes along with Business English at an international English school and an adult learning center where I volunteer. I know the challenges learning a new language can present, and I believe in continuously improving my teaching skills through a variety of professional training that I can customize to help my students progress faster and excel in their learning!

Initially with a new student I would start off with general conversation in order to gauge your specific needs. Once we have determined those needs, with both your own and my input in the discussions I will progress to more structured lesson plans. I am patient, helpful and friendly with a wicked sense of humour... I am not overly sensitive to criticism from students, which makes it a lot easier for students to be comfortable in indicating their personal requirements for learning from me – in fact I aim to learn as much from my students as they learn from me.

I have over 17 years of teaching and training experience and I have grown comfortable coaching a variety of international clients. I have 21 years of management experience gained from running restaurants and nightclubs. At University of Illinois I was the president of student associations and gave speeches at professional events and workshops. After receiving my Master’s Degree I trained employees at University of Illinois and then taught English as a Second Language, American History at the City Colleges of Chicago. Currently I focus on helping professionals and executives expand their vocabulary, utilize creative terminology, and build confidence in their public speaking abilities.

As an active learner of several languages, I can understand many of the challenges that my students face. My goal is to provide a teaching environment where my students feel they can express as freely as they want, and are not afraid to make mistakes. It is also my opinion that learning, like many things in life, is more about the process than the destination, so keeping students engaged and interested is what I aim for in every lesson. I believe that understanding the culture is essential to learning any language. That's why in my lessons, I will try to introduce my students to some cultural background, drawing from my own personal experiences wherever I can.

I believe learning should be fun. I´m not a professional teacher but over the years I got quite a few opportunities to teach German and English for fun (sometimes, in Myanmar, for example, also for cookies...) and every single time it was a very special experience. To become an even better teacher I´m currently enrolled in a 6 months online TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language) course. I have a bachelors degree in medicine and also have a TEFL certificate which qualifies me to teach English online. I have a passion for teaching and I treat my students with utmost respect. I have been involved in education since 2008 when I started working in the performing arts department of a local secondary school. I soon moved into teaching and supporting students in English lessons, among others, and helped many children achieve their GCSEs in English Literature and English Language. Following that, I have worked in a number of local primary schools, teaching English, Maths and Foundation subjects. Recently I have moved into one to one tutoring of English full time. I am also a course writer for a Taiwanese English language company. I have written Practical English courses aimed at CEFR B2 and C1 levels, and am now writing an Elementary Business English course.
