As a teacher, I understand not everyone feels confident straight away in the classroom, especially with a new teacher. Don't worry. I'm very enthusiastic and encouraging, and work hard to make sure you feel comfortable and confident enough to try and challenge yourself in starting a new language. I'm extremely patient, and able always eager to help; any out of class questions you have, feel free to send my way and I'll answer! I’m VERY talkative so don’t worry if you’re feeling shy. I also encourage you to message before the lesson and tell me what you’re looking for - or let me know in class if our topic of discussion isn’t of interest for you.

The most important aspect of lessons is TALKING (and consequentially listening) - I want you to talk, to learn to think in English. It's not practice that makes perfect, but *perfect* practice that makes perfect, which is why I'll be there every step of the way guiding your improvement.

Patience is the quality I most appreciated about my own language teachers: it made learning Spanish so much easier for me if my teachers didn’t rush me to speak. For this reason, patience is an important part of my teaching style. I never rush my students to express their thoughts in English. I give them as much time as they need. I also find it is helpful to develop a relationship with students that goes beyond the classical student-teacher one. For me, my online students are my friends, and I want them to think of me the same way. I find that this not only creates a more enjoyable experience for both me and the student, but it also creates a more conducive environment for learning.

The best way to learn English is to consistently practice speaking and listening. These two areas are so important when wanting to communicate effectively and efficiently! Pronunciation is learned by listening, and by having discussions based on your areas of interest, your pronunciation and fluency will begin to improve! I have been a private English tutor in Ecuador, Spain, and Morocco. Most recently I was in Vietnam for 1 year teaching English to all ages and levels at a private language center.
