As a teacher with more than 12 years of experience, I focus on making it easy and fun for students to understand the Dutch language. I have been working with students from a different ethnic background and with different levels which is no problem at all. So it's my job to teach without stressing students out if they are not able to keep up. Study at their own pace, having the opportunity to ask as many questions as they like and getting challenged to speak as much as they can, is what i believe, is the best way to learn a language.

As a teacher I like to give 110% in every lesson, because it is important to me that my students feel like they advance in their path to fluency with every class. I want them to be proud of their efforts. I tailor the lessons to my student's personality and interests, wich is possible because it is one-on-one. I put quality before quantity. A few years ago I helped my thai friend with her basic dutch. She had plans of moving to The Netherlands. I had so much fun helping her starting with the Dutch language. When she was getting close to her integration test, she moved to the city and had some profesdional lessons. She passed and I was very proud of her. I was very happy that I was there and helped starting with her Dutch.

As a teacher I would describe myself as informal, friendly and patient. I have experience being a teacher with a Bachelor in social educational care. I will correct you where necessary while allowing you to make mistakes along the way as this is part of learning a new language. It's my goal to be of help and see my students improve. Right now i'm learning the Thai language so I am familiar with the challenge of learning a unfamiliar language :)

Ik heb ervaring met lesgeven doordat ik dit doe op een middelbare school als stage. Ik volg momenteel dus de opleiding tot docent Engels, met de motivatie om ooit in Hongarije aan het werk te gaan als leraar. De passie voor talen leren en mijn drang om mensen te willen helpen, zijn absoluut een motivatie om tot dit beroep uit te komen. As I mentioned, I am doing the education of becoming an English teacher, with the hope of working in Hungary some day. While traveling a lot I meet so many people from all over the world and I always end up teaching them some sentences in Dutch. Since I have worked for over 10 years as a daycare teacher for childeren from 4 to 12 years old, I have a good connection with kids. Teaching them not just a language but any other skill or cultural aspect from the world means a lot to me!

Ik heb Italki ontdekt als een goede manier om anderen te helpen met de beste vaardigheid die er is, een nieuwe taal leren spreken! I try to make my online lessons as cosy as possible. I use the video-conference system, so I can see my students and they can see me; we can talk, we make the exercises together, I explain all the grammar, and if my students have any doubt or questions, I explain it orally which I think makes it easier to be understood. Besides the I also speak English, French, Norwegian and Finnish. And I understand Swedish and German. Teaching and learning language is my hobby and I am learning Greek myself. My first teaching experience (2010) was as a French volunteer in Morocco. 2010 was also the year I started studying at the university of Ghent, Belgium. During my Bachelor's, I went to study at the university of Córdoba, Spain, to improve my Spanish to a C2-level. In July 2015, I obtained my Master in Communication in French, Spanish, Dutch and English and I participated in language camps as a French teacher. In October 2017, I started my travels, began to give private classes, volunteered as an English professor and obtained my TEFL-certificate (2018). In June 2018, I officially became a professional teacher on italki and in January 2021, I obtained my ELE (Español como Lengua Extranjera).

I do voluntary teaching work in Dutch and Spanish. My students or from different ages which helps me to be flexible and adaptive. For me teaching is very grateful work because I can see people making progress in their own way. It also taught me that everyone has a different way of learning. I would love to help you discover yours and finding pleasure in learning Dutch.

Building a strong foundation for the student to excel in their life journey is my goal. Motivating them and making sure they enjoy developing their language skills is my job. It may sound cheesy, but it’s true nonetheless; seeing the smile on the faces of students is my reward. I've taught English for the past two years in Singapore, China, Myanmar. My focus has always been phonemic awareness and vocabulary building. Hence I'll be able to help you best with pronunciation and literacy skills.

I'm a very hands-on teacher. Learning languages with me means that we will cover the basic grammar and vocabulary that we need, but quickly switch to have conversations in the language you want to learn. We'll go over why you want to learn the language, and set weekly and monthly goals to achieve it! Learning a language can be a little difficult and dreadful, and that's why I love to combine learning the languages, with subjects and things you like! We'll talk about anything that makes you comfortable and happy to talk about, and won't have boring conversations that you wouldn't have in your own language anyway.
