I speak English, Spanish, Afrikaans and Xhosa, and underwent training in received British pronunciation. I have been living in South Africa for the last few years, in the morning we often see a troop of baboons passing by. I like walking my dogs, keeping abreast of current affairs, exploring cultures, cuisines, landscapes and meeting people, hence my interest in sociology and teaching English xox.

I believe that a student and teacher should build good rapport, I want to get to know my students, so I can deliver excellent lessons and chat time, where you too, will feel inspired and confident in using the English language. I am comfortable teaching all types of students who are at any level of competency. I will work hard so that you can relax knowing that you have an educated, professional tutor, to help you learn.

I have over five years teaching and training experiences. Over the past three years, I have taught English online to children and adults at all experience levels. I have completed over 4500+ online lessons and have proven success in helping students achieve their goals. I also have additional experience in examination preparation, IELTS examinations and business/academic English. I have a Bachelor's Degree and TEFL Certification.

I have almost 20 years teaching experience. I have the TEFL certificate. I have taught all levels and ages in Taiwan, Japan, China and to foreign students in California, USA. One of my favorite things is to have fun conversation about interesting subjects and I am good at coming up with subjects and topics. I am also good at exercises directed specifically at 'listening' or 'speaking'. I am very good at teaching grammar to all levels and advanced aspects such as idioms, manner of speech and phrasal verbs to advanced students.

Classroom Rules and Policies: Booking Policy - Please allow for more than 24 hours before booking a class. (Do not book a class that has less than 24 hours before the start of class.) Cancellation Policy - Usually it is possible to reschedule your class with me, however cancellations within 24 before the class will be charged for the full amount. Thank you for understanding. It is better to use a laptop for class. The phone can be small, hard to read, and hard to share lesson materials with.

I am kind, approachable, and understanding. I have a lot of respect for students who sign up for lessons, as I know it can be intimidating and hard work. I will correct your mistakes, and look for patterns, or areas of growth for you to improve on. I have years of experience teaching people as young as 3 years old up to adulthood; online and in a classroom. I have been on italki community since 2012 as a teacher and a student. I have taught both English and French as second languages in Canada and abroad.

I have a Bachelor's degree majoring in Linguistics and German and I'm also a CELTA (Cambridge English Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) qualified teacher. I started teaching English two and a half years ago while living abroad in France, while there I mainly taught adults and teenagers. I have been a Community Tutor here on Italki since November 2017 and have helped hundreds of students achieve their English language goals.

I first started teaching English to Colombian refugees that came to New Zealand in 2008. This was really the beginning of my love for languages and teaching English. I then began helping migrants coming to New Zealand, helping them to obtain fluency and confidence in English. As a teacher I excel because I help my students to feel confident and supported, and able to make mistakes without fear of judgement. I am patient with my students, and I always try to find their interests and encourage them to speak freely and uninhibited about topics they love.

I am patient and understanding and this is reflected in my teaching style. My students must feel comfortable and their confidence must be built up in order to become proficient speakers of English. My best quality as a teacher is the ability to recognise the individuals needs and plan my classes accordingly. Having previously taught people with no background in English whatsoever, to highly proficient speakers, my experience is notable! My goal is to help you speak English with confidence by improving your fluency. All classes are tailored to your specific needs, time, and interest. I use the Communicative Approach which is based on the idea that learning a language successfully comes through having to communicate real meaning. Hence, classes focus primarily on conversational English. In this approach, the objective is to present a topic in context to the learner as natural as possible as this is a highly effective way to help the language acquisition process. However, a grammatical syllabus forms the foundation of all lessons I teach and builds a framework to help learners acquire the English language.

I have experience in teaching as I use to teach school kids around my locality. As a teacher am very friendly and encouraging and l teach in the student's best interest and cater to their personal needs. I have a stronghold in Hindi as it is my native language and can help with conversational Hindi along with grammar, pronunciation, and use to correct words. Other than this I have C2 level proficiency in English and Telugu. I encourage students to engage in regular conversations in the language they want to learn as it is the best way to learn a language. I have been teaching basic English and Mathematics to underprivileged kids in India. Being a daughter of two teachers, I have always had this inclination towards teaching all my life. Funny story, as a kid, when my parents used to have a Bring Your Children to Work Day, I would always end up in an empty classroom with chalk in my hand teaching nobody.

I really love getting to know my students and I use my 6 years of teaching experience to help achieve their language goals in a fun and interesting way.
