My classes are prepared with great care. My classes are a union of everything I believe in as a teacher, researcher and language learner. In classes we will read and interpret texts, listen, study grammar elements, learn new vocabularies and practice conversation. Classes are prepared with real materials, authentic texts from Portuguese. To study the real language. In addition, our arrangement for classes is to try to use the Portuguese language during class. English I have been teaching and learning from my students for the past 10 years. I started off as an all-around private tutor for teenagers preparing for the Brazilian version of the SAT and moved on to the classrooms with the same goal but to a bigger audience. From there I slowly got more and more interested in languages and combining teaching and my newly discovered passion for languages was a natural step. This way, five years ago I gave up Chemistry to pursue a career in language teaching and it has proven to be the best decision I have made so far for it has given me the opportunity to travel the world and discover more of myself and of the world.

As a language student since I was a child, I know how is to be in the place of the student. So, during my classes, I try to create an enjoyable environment, using techniques that allow an effective learning process. When I teach grammar, I like to bring it to real-life situations, in order to generate a complete understanding and usage. The results are marvelous!

Learning a new language not only requires patience, but also the ability to keep oneself motivated and that's why I'll always encourage you to find new ways to relate to the language you're learning. That can simply be done by watching, for example a YouTube channel on a topic you like and sharing it in class. Searching for content in a different language can be tricky since most times you'll see yourself struggling to find the perfect balance between those that meet your language level and the topics you're interested in at the same time, so here's where I'll help the most.

Sou professora de português língua estrangeira/ língua segunda desde 2007. O meu percurso profissional começou em Goa, na Índia, onde lecionei durante 4 anos. Depois, voltei a Portugal onde tirei o mestrado em Ensino de Português Língua Estrangeira. Daqui fui para a China, Trinidad e Tobago e Goa, onde ensinei em universidades. Atualmente, sou professora em duas universidades em Portugal.

Comecei dando aulas de matérias do ensino médio e da faculdade para brasileiros e quando me tornei confortável com inglês e francês eu comecei a procurar, por conta própria, pessoas que queriam aprender português e inglês, assim eu adquiri conhecimento e sei o que é necessário para ensinar esses idiomas. Também tenho experiência ensinando inglês, sei dos detalhes e conheço técnicas para facilitar o aprendizado.

I became a teacher when I came back to Brazil in 2014. At the same time I started teaching, I took my TESOL course and I’ve been teaching privately ever since. I really appreciate students who are independent and aren't afraid to step out of their comfort zone and learn with their own mistakes. And forget what you've heard about learning a second language being difficult as an adult. If you maintain consistency in your studies, you will reach fluency. I started speaking English when I was 30 and I became proficient not long after. If I was able to achieve this as an adult, you can as well.
