Ich habe in Bremen über sechs Jahre als eine professionelle und zertifizierte Lehrkraft für Deutsch als Zweitsprache gearbeitet. Durch meine Lehrerfahrungen mit vielen Menschen aus aller Welt habe ich genau verstehen können, wie und womit man am besten deutsche Sprache lernen kann. Ich versuche dabei, die besonderen Lernschwierigkeiten von Lernenden genau zu analysieren und zu verstehen. So kann ich die Lernenden am besten motivieren, indem ich mit deren Schwierigkeiten und nicht zuletzt deren Stärke einfühlsam umgehe.

I have been teaching German for 20 years and I have tutored people from all walks of life and age, ranging from university students to corporate executives. I tailor your studies to fit your unique learning style and I am happy to accompany you on your journey to learning German. Meeting people from all over the world inspires me. That’s why I studied English and French in an interpreter school and attended classes in Japanese and Arabic. This taught me the challenge of learning a language. Before we start with the lessons, I will evaluate your current level and your goals with learning the language. I will also find out what kind of exercises and assignments you prefer, as I am well aware, that every student needs a different approach. I am a very patient teacher with a good sense of humor who is convinced, that it´s a lot easier to learn a language while having a good time. I encourage my students to talk, give them a learning structure and also make them confident to use the language. I also prepare students for exams and give them homework, if they want. I see myself more as a German language coach (rather than a teacher) to set individual goals and to get the best out of every student. I have been teaching many students for three years, so I have already some experience in teaching. I am a very patient teacher. It is no problem for me to repeat things, which my student did not understand. I've helped Germans improve their English for 7 years and have taught German for almost 8 years. First, I started acquiring students on a local basis in Berlin and then offered to tutor people abroad. Later I taught German to foreign prisoners in the JVA-Tegel (Tegel prison); thus, I learned how to behave professionally and understanding even in stressful situations. My knowledge about German grammar goes beyond the C1 and C2 levels, and I am sure that I can help you improve yours without much effort and, more importantly, without pressure! I am patient and use several different techniques to teach.

I teach Italian, German, English, Spanish, Russian, French, Dutch, Catalan, Portuguese, Greek, Hindi, Arabic and Esperanto (at different levels). I specialise in multilingual teaching (up to 10 languages in one course) and I am a certified language examiner for English, Italian, Russian, French, German and Spanish. I hold an MA in International Communication, an MA in Didactics, two BAs in Translating and Interpreting and a CELTA (Certification in English Language Teaching to Adults).

I have worked as a language teacher on almost all levels (except with toddlers and children). I have taught groups and individuals at university and school level as well as in business environments. Many of my current clients are from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Furthermore, I love languages and constantly try new methods for my own language learning to put me in the shoes of the learner.

Ich habe im Rahmen des Praxissemesters an einem Gymnasium in Baden-Württemberg die Sprachen Englisch und Französisch unterrichtet, gleichzeitig habe ich aber angefangen als Deutsch Lehrerin für Arenalingua zu arbeiten. Nach einem Jahr habe ich dann durch Fokus zusätzlich unterrichtet. Noch ein Jahr später kam dann noch LTC dazu, weshalb ich mich jetzt dazu entschlossen habe, Arenalingua aufzugeben. Ich habe alle Niveaus von A1 bis C2 unterrichtet, sowohl im Gruppen, als auch im Einzelunterricht. Meine Schüler kommen von überallher: Tschechien, Brasilien, Indien, Pakistan, Mexiko, Argentinien... um nur einige zu nennen.

My goal as a teacher is that you get the most out of the class. How do I want to achieve that? 1) Create a comfortable atmosphere: You have to be relaxed and feel comfortable in order to learn. I will try to create a very comfortable atmosphere so you can concentrate on the lesson. 2) Teaching a fun class: The class should be fun and interesting, that’s when we get the best results. I would love to know about topics that interest you and consider them in my preparation of the class. 3) Speak as much German as possible: You have to get used to the structure, the sound and the rhythm of the language. That's why I want to encourage you that we speak as much German as possible during the class.

It’s important for me that you feel relaxed in our lessons, so you will feel more comfortable speaking. I’m kind and very patient. Through my own experience I know that language learning is not linear, sometimes you find it easy and learn a lot and sometimes it can be frustrating. I want to help you to overcome any obstacles in your language learning and have fun on the way. Es ist wichtig, dass du dich im Unterricht wohl fühlst, sodass dir das Sprechen leichter fällt. Ich bin freundlich und geduldig. Durch meine eigenen Spracherfahrungen weiß ich, dass das Lernen nicht immer einfach ist und es viele Höhen und Tiefen gibt. I believe learning should be fun. I´m not a professional teacher but over the years I got quite a few opportunities to teach German and English for fun (sometimes, in Myanmar, for example, also for cookies...) and every single time it was a very special experience. My work as a teacher includes teaching groups, kids and private students and preparing them for exams from beginners to B2. Some of my students want to improve their skills in order to study in Germany or a German-speaking country. Others need to improve their language skills because of their work in a corporate environment. My classes focus on language skills, such as fluency for professional and private settings, preparing for job interviews or presentations, and dealing with all kind of real-life situations the students may face.

Since 2007, I have been teaching German as a foreign language in Taipei, Taiwan to Chinese native speakers. Because I had had an interest in the Chinese language and culture for many years, in 2005 I moved to Taiwan to learn Mandarin Chinese. At some point during my stay I had to start looking for work and ended up teaching German at a local language center. Right from the start I loved teaching German and since then have kept on working as a language instructor with a passion, gaining experience over the years and keeping up with improving my skills and expanding my knowledge up to this day.
