<Covering All Levels> I used to teach Korean and English to international exchange students when I was in university. I mainly taught them how to write 한글 ( Korean writing) and how to speak properly in various situations through videos, Korean songs, and some text books and study materials provided. Most of them were beginner's level and they could have improved their Korean skill so quickly. However, I also taught advanced level students and a student studying for TOPIK test. Hence, I can basically cover all levels. In addition, when I was in the US, I used to teach Korean to Korean American kids who were born and raised in the US.

I've taught students over 15 years I have been teaching for a long time and I know that each student has a different personality of learning something. Korean and English are very different languages. The way people say thing is different and the word order is also very different. (In Korean, the verb comes last). For example, in English, we say "What are you talking about?" But in Korean, we say "What kind of saying is it? (=무슨 말이에요?)" Also, in English, we say "Happy birthday." But in Korean, we say "Birthday congratulations (= 생일 축하해요)." Example like these show just how different English and Korean are. If we literally translate English to Korean, it sound very unnatural. So, when we study Korean, memorizing natural Korean sentences is very important. I will teach you how to make natural Korean sentences.

중국에서 교환학생으로 생활했을 당시, 한국어 선생님이되어 중국학생들을 가르친 경험이 있습니다. 한 학기동악 약 200명의 중국인 앞에서 2시간동안 수업을 했습니다. 때문에 한국어를 가르치기 위한 자료도 있으며 한국어를 가르치는 일에 자신있습니다. 대화 뿐만아니라 체계적으로 한국어를 배울 수 있도록 하겠습니다. 현재는 교회에서 초등학생 친구들을 가르치고 있습니다. 약 4년정도 초등학생 친구들을 지도하고 있습니다. 더불어 수학강사로도 2달간 근무했던 경험이 있습니다.

I have tutored high school and university students while I was doing my bachelor’s and master’s programs in Seoul. One thing I have learned from that experience is that we should be open-minded and try to think from different perspectives. For example, I might be a teacher in Korean but I am also a Dutch learner.
