My qualifications: • Master’s degree in Japanese Education from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Seoul (2014). • Korean Education Course at Hongik University, Seoul (2013). • Bachelor’s degree in Japanese Language and Japanese Translation from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Seoul (2011). My Korean teaching experience consists of one-on-one private lessons and teaching group lessons at the Korean school in Cape Town.

I have three years of teaching experience. And I've taught more than three hundred students. As a language teacher, I try to use different materials. For a smooth process of teaching Korean, I use textbooks, pdf files, videos(Korean drama and documentary), books, and K-pop music. I've taught all levels and ages, from the very beginner to advanced speaker. I've always studied the topics the students wanted to talk about.

In Hong Kong and Seoul after my family moved back to Korea, my two children have been attending an international school and I have helped my children speak 3 languages perfectly. I myself learned English in Hong Kong to survive and I learned by experience how difficult the language acquisition is. Those hands-on experiences combined with my education background, my career as a high school teacher would help you improve your Korean language in every area effectively.

I majored in Korean literature and Japanese. I’ve taught Korean to a lot of foreign friends while studying English and Japanese. I have a Japanese teacher certificate and a master's degree in Japanese language education. I have lived in Hokkaido and worked as a Japanese interpreter at a company.

A Korean who grew up and lived in Korean speaks the Korean language well. Even if a Korean speaks the Korean language well, all of them are not good at teaching the language. The reason is that, speaking the language and teaching it is different. So, I think the teaching skill is very important for teachers. The reasons I will teach well is... 1) I am teaching my kids, Korean school, and Sejong Hakdang for many years. While I was teaching for many years, I learned how to teach a second language as Korean and English. 2) A good thing about me is I am good at teaching and I love my student. 3) I also know how it feels to learn a new language because I learned a second language English.

I have been tutoring Korean since when I studied at university. I had many opportunities to meet foreign students and to teach them Korean. Also, I have taught Korean to Russian employees at Korean companies. I know about the struggles of learning new languages, I have been through that process. The biggest thing I realized during tutoring and learning new languages is that the alphabet, basic grammar, writing and reading are all important, but the most important thing is to enjoy learning with confidence.

3. My opinion on learning languages: - True beginners would benefit from using a textbook or other materials to learn. You are in the best position to choose your own study plan! ** For example: I studied English through watching American TV shows! (Seinfeld and That 90’s show! I still watch Seinfeld..Haha!) I used to get a script of the show and spend time looking up the meaning of the words. But there were so many phrases and expressions I could not figure out. I also really wanted to know how to talk like a native speaker! So that was the time I decided to study with my tutor! It was so helpful to study with a tutor and I noticed that I was getting better and better every day!

Korean and English are very different languages. The way people say thing is different and the word order is also very different. (In Korean, the verb comes last). For example, in English, we say "What are you talking about?" But in Korean, we say "What kind of saying is it? (=무슨 말이에요?)" Also, in English, we say "Happy birthday." But in Korean, we say "Birthday congratulations (= 생일 축하해요)." Example like these show just how different English and Korean are. If we literally translate English to Korean, it sound very unnatural. So, when we study Korean, memorizing natural Korean sentences is very important. I will teach you how to make natural Korean sentences.

My teaching style is relationship-oriented, thoroughly prepared, patient, and friendly. I pride myself in making sure students feel supported and encouraged during the educational relationship. My approach when working with students is highly attentive and customized. I use a personalized curriculum and thoroughly prepared teaching materials to accomplish this when working with students with various levels, motivations, and goals. I believe through building trust and a sense of comfort when working with students, we create a space that is genuine and open, which allows students to bring their best ability and mindset to learn.

I practiced teaching method of Korean language as part of a training course that I took part to become a Korean language teacher back in college years. I taught one of my fellow students when I was in Sweden, and more recently I have been tutoring a college student until now.
