Ho imparato diverse lingue nella mia vita, vivo in un paese straniero e so bene che cosa significa avere paura di parlare, essere stanchi di sentire una lingua straniera o sentire che gli altri non ti capiscono. Ma ho imparato a gestire l'ansia e lo stress e a divertirmi imparando le lingue. Posso insegnarti a sentirti bene e a non avere più paura. Oltre alla mia esperienza come studentessa di lingue, ho studiato didattica per l'italiano e le mie lezioni sono sempre create rispettando le moderne teorie di apprendimento delle lingue.

Sono un'insegnante attenta ai bisogni dei miei studenti, alle loro passioni e aspirazioni. Mi concentro sul loro metodo di apprendimento affinché procediamo di pari passo. Sono ripetitiva, amo la ridondanza affinché i concetti chiave siano ben compresi e assimilati. Con studenti più avanzati utilizzo un metodo induttivo di insegnamento affinché siano loro a riflettere sulla lingua. Il momento più importante per me è quello dei feedback dove posso confrontarmi con le conoscenze che gli studenti hanno realmente appreso e prendere atto di ciò che non hanno capito.

My first experience with language-teaching and exchange (a good and useful experience) was represented by tandem language learning (when I lived in Brighton). My lessons are structured according to language proficiency levels set by the European framework. But, beyond that, methodology, approach and the relationship between teacher and student are all that matters. Language isn't just grammar. Language is a communicative act and grammar plays a fundamental role in order to learn a language. It can't be, however, the only way to "achieve the objective". I think you can learn languages if you don't get bored, if you feel enthusiasm, if you have passion for what you are learning.

Per me risulta fondamentale mettere a proprio agio lo studente, in modo che non si limiti per timore di fare errori, ma al contrario, si senta in uno spazio sicuro che permette la libera pratica e l'apprendimento. Dopotutto, se si ha sempre paura di sbagliare non ci si esercita mai! For me is fundamental to put the student at ease, so that he/she doesn't end up limiting him/herself for fear of making mistakes. The student has to feel him/herself in a safe space, that allows practice and learning. You'll never exercise the language if you're scared of making mistakes!

Presto attenzione allo studente e alle sue necessità. L’obiettivo dello studente diventa la linea guida della lezione. Assieme allo studente cerco di comprendere le sue necessità e i suoi limiti per superarli. Sono amichevole, voglio che lo studente sia rilassato e si senta libero di esprimersi. Allo stesso tempo non transigo l’errore, la conoscenza corretta della lingua porta a una comunicazione più efficace.

I teach both Italian and English, and I started teaching Italian as a volunteer. In the last two years, I taught Italian to Erasmus students. I have been learning languages since I was a child and I developed new methods according to my experience. I believe that learning a new language is one of the best ways to enjoy life, to be more open-minded, to have better self-knowledge and to help self-development.

I have been teaching Italian for two years, and I specialise in adults from 17 years old. During this time, I fell in love with my profession as I really like sharing my knowledge with people. I always try to improve my teaching style. For this reason, I studied how to teach languages at university and took courses about language coaching and microlearning in my free time. I also wrote my thesis about teaching languages, and the methodology called flipped classroom. Thus, if you want to try one of these ways of learning languages, you are welcome!

I like establishing an even relationship with my students, so they can feel more comfortable in conversation with me. Being at ease while learning a foreign language is extremely important because it allows the mind to open and learn with no barriers.

My goal as a teacher is to create an atmosphere where you don’t feel any pressure, but instead you feel at ease and free to speak.

La mia passione sono le lingue, ma mi piace parlare anche di storia, geografia, arte, musica e cinema. Se avete argomenti particolari come quelli appena citati possiamo parlarne insieme durante la lezione, possiamo fare conversazione. Since 2 years I have been teaching Italian in cross-cultural contexts, to people coming from all over the world. Languages are my passion. I like also history, geography, art, music and movies as well. If you share the same passions, we can talk about them during our lessons.

I have a PhD in International Studies and I know a lot about Neapolitan and Italian history, society and culture. I have experience both in academic teaching and private tutoring (I have been tutoring both children and teenagers from 9 to 18 years old and universitary students for years). I prefer an interactive and dynamic approach, to be discussed together with the student according to his/her level and his/her needs.
