I graduated from Padua University in Classics in 2013 and started working after few months in a private school in Padua as a teacher for Italian as a second language. After one year I decided to specialize in the field of teaching languages and I had a Masters in Advanced Planning for teaching Italian to foreigners. I also had a second-level DILS-PG certification and I’m a CILS and CELI examiner. I’ve been working as a contract teacher for the University for Foreigners of Perugia for 2 years. I'm currently working for them in Milan at the European Institute of Design, where I prepare Chinese-speaking students for the admission exams for design courses.

I am an empathetic teacher; whatever you're learning, I hope to make you feel at ease and confident that you will grow with practice. I work with students to set learning goals and discover the best methods of working towards them. I am knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and I love to talk about history and literature while we learn the language!

I have 5 years of experience in teaching modern and ancient Greek to children and adults of various levels, from absolute beginners to advanced students. In my lessons, we will practice all aspects of linguistic competence, namely writing, speaking, listening, and reading. My goal while teaching is to maintain your enthusiasm and curiosity during this learning journey. I have been teaching spoken Latin & Greek at iTalki for almost two years now, and have taught Latin at a number of institutions in the past.

I am a qualified teacher. I have obtained a bachelor in History & Archaeology and a master in Archaeology of Greece, Egypt and Near East. During my studies, I accomplished an internship in schools. As an undergraduate student, I visited some schools, attended many classes and gained experience with teaching. During my master, I learnt HIEROGLYPHICS, I made also a short dictionary of hieroglyphics in my thesis. I am also qualified for teaching in Secondary Educatio by GTCS (General Teaching Council for Scotland): (Greek, Latin), Classical Studies (literature, history, philosophy, art and archaeology), Modern Studies, Social and Civic Education and Religious Education

I am a very inquiring person and teaching a language to foreign people is a great opportunity to impart Greek language, culture, and history and also to discover new cultures and different habits. I like traveling, theater, and communicate with people. Languages, under any perspective, are my main passion, and greek is the common theme of my academic studies, my working experiences, and many of my hobbies. I got my Bachelor's Degree in Greek Philology, School of Philosophy, at University of Athens in 2006. Since then, I've been successfully teaching Modern Greek to Greek pupils of all levels. I started teaching Greek Language and History to adult foreigners in 2013 and I must say it has been a very interesting experience so far. It has always been a pleasure for me to communicate with different people from all over the world. I would also like to mention that I have participated in several seminars on Special Education, which have helped me improve myself and my teaching methods.

My name is Sophia and I'm a Greek native speaker living in Athens. I have a BA in European and Greek Civilization of the Hellenic Open Greek University of Patras. Besides modern Greek I teach and Ancient, reading, grammar and syntax. In my first degree I also took Greek Literature, Ancient History and language. I have been teaching for 20 years and English in Language Schools in my country and lived for four years in Pretoria, South Africa, an English speaking country.

I have enough experience to help you get into the ancient Greek culture and to help you learn the Greek language, which for some people is a bit complicated. I have taught students from several educational levels (from 6 years old to 19 years old). My English level is very good and there would be no obstacle to communicate in English.
