Teaching has always been something I wanted to do, from my very childhood. I really started when I was in high school, I would give privates classes in every subject, then I got step by step specialised in French due to my language assistant job. This consists in going into classrooms of secundary students to help them and the teacher to improve their French. Besides, I studied with the Alliance Française (an institution that gives French classes all over the world) to complete my experience with theoric background.

I have a long experience as a French Teacher and also as a Teacher of Spanish Language and Literature. I have worked as a Psychopedagogue for many years as well. All this professional background in different areas of education has provided me with the experience to adapt fast to the capacities and needs of students. I customize the classes for every student depending on their levels, their needs, their interests and their objectives. I meticulously prepare each class using adapted and certified educational materials that I select for each student and I constantly offer extra exercices and activities as homework in between classes upon request from my students. I offer not only general French classes, but also conversational classes for intermediate and advanced levels. I also offer French exam preparation courses for students who are planning to take the DELF or TEF exams.

I believe in helping you master French as it is spoken/written by actual French speaking people, not textbooks. This means adapting the material and language level to the situation. Indeed, we don’t usually speak in daily life the way a journalist does on the news. And we don’t write a formal report as we would an email to a friend. So knowing your goals and why you are learning French is essential.

I have been a dance teacher for 40 years, so that I am sure I love teaching! At some times in the past, I have also given private language lessons at home, but it was hard to fit them into my family life. Now with italki offering online teaching, I am pleased to come back to it. I see teaching fundamentally as a way of communicating. Before starting to instil any skill in my dance students, I try to reach out to each of them and establish the open channel that is key to learning. This is how I am able to teach the difficult technique of classical ballet to complete adult beginners, women and men. Mon expérience professionnelle m'amène à privilégier les cours avec des adultes ou de jeunes adultes (à partir de 16-17 ans) ayant déjà quelques bases en français (niveau "faux-débutant", A1-A2 du CECR).
