Hello everybody and future students! My name is Oarine. I have been a teacher of French and Portuguese for foreigners for about fifteen years. I was a French teacher in a French school very well known around the world. I am a linguist at the University of Toulouse. I also took art history and cinema courses. I currently live in Brazil, my country of birth. And an inspiration for my classes. I have been speaking French since the age of eleven and I am a language lover hence my use of language knowledge over the years. I have learned that comparing languages is a very effective method of learning and teaching. And linguistics has proven itself; it walks for teaching.

I try to understand the student's rhythm. Years of teaching have shown me that simply applying a methodology where the student himself deduces the grammar of the target language, does not always work. I still find students who ask me for verb lists to be read and memorized! Therefore, I try to mix the current methodology, where the student, little by little, deduces, feeling the internal rule of the language, as well as a little repetition and exercises for the crystallization of the contents. I had experience with different ages, however, lately, I have been teaching more to an Asian audience, which made me rethink all teaching methods used until then.

I try my best to make the student use his active ability to speak. Passive reading and listening skills, which are essential - especially listening - are worked on with some exercises that are done by students, at home. With the new media it became much easier to bring to the classroom, for example, series from France. I confess that the teaching material for teaching Brazilian Portuguese is still deficient, which makes the teacher work a little bit more...tricky.

C'étais parfait ! Oarine a montré beaucoup de ressources pour apprendre la langue française. Il est une personne très gentille et patiente. Il a répondu toutes mes questions et il a corrigé ma prononciation. Je vais continuer les cours avec lui ! À bientôt !
