Hello my name is Colin and I am from Seattle, USA, but I currently live in Stockholm, Sweden. I have a TEFL-150 hour certificate, a BA in Gender Studies & Spanish, and a Masters in Anthropology. I have been a teacher for three years and I love teaching. I spent one year teaching English and Social Studies at a high school in Madrid, Spain and the past two years I have been teaching teaching English to students online in East Asia. Teaching goes hand in hand with my passion for travelling and meeting people from different cultures. I have travelled extensively across Europe, Asia, South America, the Caribbean and North America.

I believe that learning a language is like a bridge between cultures and people. As a teacher I want to learn as much from you as you learn from me. I believe that learning is a two-way street and that the teacher and student can learn a lot from one another. I would also consider myself to be patient, flexible, and willing to meet you at any level you may be at. I have worked with both children and adults. Furthermore, I have worked with a broad range of different levels from very basic beginners up to C2 level.

Mijn lessen en manier van lesgeven

I can adapt my lessons to your needs. My lessons normally consist of a balance between grammar exercises, conversational practise, games & activities, reading comprehension, writing practise, and pronunciation. I can help you with all of these areas or we could focus one specific area. However, conversational English will almost always be incorporated into the lesson as this helps gaining confidence and fluency in an everyday context of the languge.
