My name is Simona and I am Italian. I have enjoyed a long and interesting career working in the field of Oil and Gas. I have enjoyed the opportunity to work in many multi cultural teams and in many countries. My special interest is in the studies of languages, linguistic and literature. This is why I decided to change my career path and turn my interests into the education field. I teach Italian as a second language with passion, and, in order to do it at a professional level, I got a master degree in linguistics and Italian as a second language. In addition to that, I have recently enrolled in a new master degree program.

I am a dedicated and committed researcher and teaching professional with a comprehensive experience spread over diversified roles in the education field where I have delivered excellent performance results. I am skilled at teaching students with different cultural and educational backgrounds. I have customized programs and syllabus according to special requirements and goals of students: e.g. syllabuses for Italian in working environments, university, diplomacy and tourism. I like teaching students from different cultures because it is a way to exit my comfort zone and it is a way to grow both from professional and human point of view.

Mijn lessen en manier van lesgeven

A typical lesson of mine is about a topic, or a couple of topics. I introduce the topic in a general way through a video, or a written text or other features. During the class, I help the student to analyze deeper the grammar, the structures and the new words. I follow this approach because this is how our brain works: from a general to a more analytical approach to knowledge. I use a communicative approach, because I think that communication is the key to learning a language. A student has to learn how to pass a message, and how to communicate. I am fond of culture. Teaching a language goes along with teaching the culture of the country and there is plenty of Italian culture in my classes
