After giving private lessons in Dutch I decided to teach English as well. There are a lot of people in Barcelona who want to improve their English. I did a TEFL course which I finished successfully. I started to give directly my private lessons after the course. During the course I taught a lot in front of groups. Groups between 6 till 12 students. For me it is important that my students are satisfied. I will adjust every lesson to every student. I discover weaknesses from students to focus on during the lessons. The students need to enjoy my lessons and have the feeling they learn a lot as well. I'm a patient, friendly teacher and I like to help other people a lot. Mijn lessen en manier van lesgeven
Mostly I make my own lesson material. I make PDF´s to explain everything to the students. I search for useful material, which fit to my lesson topic. You can think about: menu's, reviews, articles, maps, recipes etc. I am using interesting topics which students will use in daily life as well. After the lead in of the lesson and the reading/listening for gist or grammar explanation, I give the students exercises to practice. I use a lot of error correction and I use individual drill. To let the students remember their mistakes. I monitor during the exercises to see if the student has difficulties. The feedback will be always in a friendly way. You have Dutch NT2 exams? Keuze van de leerkracht
Ik heb nu een jaar Nederlandse les van Stephanie. Ze is altijd heel goed voorbereid met lessen die zowel leuk als uitdagend zijn. Mijn Nederlands begrip, spreken en schrijven zijn allemaal aanzienlijk verbeterd.

Stephanie has really helped me understand concepts of Dutch within one lesson that I've struggled with previously for months. I'm looking forward to the next lesson!

I had a feeling that during the lesson Stephanie was bored or sleepy or something like this. I was kinda disappointed. At the same time, she took into account all my wishes regarding the lesson: she pointed out my mistakes in written exercises, asked me the questions about the texts from my textbook, we talked a lot.
