Over mij
italki leerkracht sinds 22 Sep 2013
I live in South Africa and I love hearing about different countries and cultures. I have traveled to England, Italy, Portugal and Australia.
I love the outdoors, hiking in the mountains and walking along the beach.
I have two children, aged 35 and 32 and two grandchildren, aged 7 and 3.
Ik als leerkracht
I have been teaching children for about 30 years. My specialty is working with children with Special Needs - particularly those who have difficulties with reading, spelling and maths. I am also involved in Adult Education, helping women who are training to be preschool teachers.
Mijn lessen en manier van lesgeven
I have been working with students on Italki since 2013, and have loved meeting people from all over the world. My approach is to focus on reading a current news item together - which assists with fluency and vocabulary building. We then discuss the topic, giving an opportunity to improve communication skills. We also work on some language exercises that help to consolidate the vocabulary.
I have also had some experience at working with children on Italki - where we have focused on vocabulary building and fluency.
Many of my students have endorsed me for being punctual, prepared, patient and supportive!

Thanks Jenny! Sometimes some feelings that people have around the world are same. Nike's article let me to notice anthem symbolizes honor to nation and is also important for us. I've never seriously think about it....I'll more respect for my anthem.^^
