He impartido clases en instituciones importantes como la Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara, en Jalisco, México y en centros de enseñanza de idiomas. Desde que comencé a enseñar español he dado clases particulares, al principio presenciales y los últimos años combinadas (en línea y presenciales). He utilizado varios métodos de enseñanza (tradicional, comunicativo, enfoque por tareas, postmétodo, etc) aunque, definitivamente, me decanto por conocer a mis alumnos para después valorar sus deseos e inquietudes. Es entonces cuando busco y preparo material que satisfaga sus necesidades. Procuro establecer actividades significativas y mantener un ambiente de trabajo agradable.

Deseo brindar clases interesantes, divertidas, con las cuales puedas aprender a hablar, leer y escribir en español con comodidad y confianza. Creo que todo estudiante merece una persona profesional que se dedique por completo a la enseñanza y que esté dispuesto a modificar sus lecciones en función de las necesidades específicas de cada persona. Me gusta construir la clase en conjunto con el o la estudiante, propongo actividades  pero también estoy abierta a usar cualquier recurso que quieras usar, así que siéntete libre en proponer cosas para nuestras clases!

I've always been fascinated by languages! When I was in school, I provided private and group tutoring to different students in different areas: English, Spanish, Mathematics and Physics. In my university I've also helped some fellow students in different subjects, including English. Besides, 5 years ago I had the chance to take part in a volunteering project that helped foreigners learn Spanish in Antigua Guatemala. Every experience has taught me a lot :) I decided to become a tutor because I think the best way to learn about the world is by teaching other people what you yourself know :)

In 2016, I decided to start teaching the language, now I have more than 8000 lessons given on Italki. On June, I will have five years of experience on this website and one of the best thing I love about teaching a new language, it is to learn so much about other cultures. My background in linguistics, particularly phonetics, allows me to specialise in pronunciation, and the many languages I speak will allow me to understand why you make certain mistakes, and so it will be easier for me to help you correct them. I also have experience in speech therapy, as my younger brother is deaf and verbally dyspraxic, and this helps tremendously with teaching pronunciation. I believe these abilities put me in an excellent position to help you sound like a native speaker. My style is relaxed but attentive, and I aim to get you speaking as much as possible. You do not need to prepare anything for the lessons (unless you want to), I will always have questions for you!
