I am a Canadian certified teacher. I also have my B.A in Linguistics as well as diplomas in Early Child Education and TESOL. I have been working in many different school settings including public/private schools and one on one/group tutoring. As a teacher, I think that the most important thing when you are learning a foreign language is to feel comfortable and confident. Comfortable because you can learn in good conditions and get help whenever you need. Confident because you can feel that you make progress by practicing and that you are not afraid to do mistake. I always do my best to make my students feel comfortable and confident in the class. I have taught students from different countries so I can understand and help you easily when you encounter difficulties. Thanks to my studies and my experience, I can cover various activities and make you improve your pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary and sentences.

Whenever I have free time, I prepare meaningful lessons for my students. I've been reading books about Korean as a Foreign Language. I try to put myself in my student's shoes. So if you are a beginner, now is the best time to take my lessons as I'm better prepared to explain grammar topics in an easy to understand manner! I really like to teach foreigners. Whenever I meet and teach my students on italki, and see that their Korean language skill has improved through my lessons, I am very happy. For me, teaching is a very rewarding job. I have been teaching Korean since I started to travel alone. I taught Korean at church in Japan and the US. They range in age from 7-year-olds to 70-year-olds. Some people couldn't speak Korean at all, but they developed a lot through our (me and other Korean students) class. And I know how hard learning a new language is. I am so patient! Since I became a Korean teacher, I'd like to give wider publicity to forenigners. I completed a 120-hour teacher training program of Korean language for foreigners. And I started teaching Korean online since 2019. Students who learn Korean inspire me a lot. I really enjoy helping them with their Korean and achieving their goals. I think it is very important for students to speak Korean as much as possible during classes. So I will give them enough chances to speak and offer proper methods and corrections.

I have experience teaching Korean to my friends. did some language exchange. My first language is Korean, and my 2nd language is English. So I truly know how hard it is to learn a new language. especially Speaking. I am a very patient person. I can wait until what u want to say. I think speaking speed isn't that important. your right grammar and vocabulary and tones will make your fluency of Korean. I can directly correct your sentences and make them more fluent. Don't be afraid or nervous. It will be alright.

I have taught Korean to my friends which is why I started getting interesting in teaching Korean. I used to correct their Korean writing such as essays and also helped their conversational skills not only informal way but also a formal way in different generations' way to talk.

I have been teaching English in Korea and the UK for nearly 10 years now. In Korea, I worked at private language institutions such as Wall Street Institute and Direct English where I taught students of various ages and careers. In the UK, I briefly taught in the summer programme at Bristol Language Centre, but I've mainly worked at the University of Bath where I am currently based. I am now working as an educational researcher, but still occasionally teaching students on academic skills. I am also a CELTA qualified teacher with a Master’s in TESOL and PhD in Education.
