I majored in Korean literature and Japanese. I’ve taught Korean to a lot of foreign friends while studying English and Japanese. I have a Japanese teacher certificate and a master's degree in Japanese language education. I have lived in Hokkaido and worked as a Japanese interpreter at a company.

I love to talk about something I like to someone who is interested in that topic. That's why I like teaching languages, because I love them. I’m interested in not only learning foreign languages but also in teaching Korean to international learners. During my university years, I taught Korean to exchange students from different backgrounds and helped them achieve their goals. I usually correct their journals written in Korean and help them improve their conversational skills in formal and informal settings. I also taught Korean to adult learners who prepared for the TOPIK exam and they've got level 4-6 on that exam. I realized, however, that there is a huge gap between what I know and being a teacher to someone. That motivates me to study Second Language Acquisition deeply, so I took a lot of TESOL/TKSOL classes in college.

I mainly taught them how to write 한글 ( Korean writing) and how to speak properly in various situations through videos, Korean songs, and some text books and study materials provided. Most of them were beginner's level and they could have improved their Korean skill so quickly. However, I also taught advanced level students and a student studying for TOPIK test. Hence, I can basically cover all levels. In addition, when I was in the US, I used to teach Korean to Korean American kids who were born and raised in the US.

I have been helping and teaching Korean for an year.

My real passion is to teach languages and when see the results in my students that is the most exciting thing for me.
