After studying Korean Language and Literature at university, I had experience teaching languages for several years in both Korea and Japan. I have also studied Japanese for many years and have spent 18 months living in Tokyo, so I can read, speak, and teach Japanese at an advanced level. I have been teaching English in Korea and the UK for nearly 10 years now. In Korea, I worked at private language institutions such as Wall Street Institute and Direct English where I taught students of various ages and careers. In the UK, I briefly taught in the summer programme at Bristol Language Centre, but I've mainly worked at the University of Bath where I am currently based. Before teaching Korean I taught English to Korean teenagers over 10 years in Seoul. I'm a TESOL qualified teacher. Just before coming to Milan, I got a degree and a certificate in teaching Korean to foreigners. Experience teaching English was helpful for me to teach Korean. In Milan, I taught Korean at Universita Della Terza eta. My first students were beginners without knowing the Korean alphabet. Most of all they were busy and could spend only one hour a week. But after one year they could read it and talk simple dialogue.
