I am a professional Korean teacher. Now I live in Jeonju in Korea. I have been teaching on italki since 2017, but I first started in 2011. I was in an exchange program in Tanzania in the university and I helped some children speak Korean at Hangeul school. It was a new experience for me and I had a really good time with them. After that, when I traveled to Southeast Asia, I met some foreigners who were interested in Korean culture especially K-pop and K-dramas. For fun communication, I’ll ask students what they are interested in, and I will prepare a range of materials such as articles, video clips, photographs and more in my classes for discussion and conversation. Topics could be anything: movies, music, travel, food. I think that even fashion or playing video games could be a proper topic to learn Korean. There’s no good or bad topics to learn Korean. My lessons can help you build your vocabulary, improve your use of written and spoken grammar, and confidently communicate in Korean. We, as language learners need the motivation to keep learning. In my opinion, that kind of motivation mainly comes from having regular conversations with native speakers, especially those who have experienced the same struggles of learning a new language. In that sense, I really want to be a supporter of yours. I also majored art and art Studies, art history, and now I work as an art teacher. After studying Korean Language and Literature at university, I had experience teaching languages for several years in both Korea and Japan. I have also studied Japanese for many years and have spent 18 months living in Tokyo, so I can read, speak, and teach Japanese at an advanced level.
