I am a professional Italian teacher with DITALS II Certification of the University for Foreigners of Siena. I have been teaching for 8 years, both in schools and as a private teacher. I am patient, helpful and creative. I think it is very important to learn with fun, so I use to create enjoyable and engaging activities making you able to speak Italian from the first day in a friendly and relaxing atmosphere. I can teach all levels from beginner to advanced (A1 to C2) and help you to prepare for CILS and PLIDA exams. I am also here for you if you need to improve you Italian skills for work.

As a tutor, I am very patient and attentive. For whatever reason you want to learn Italian: maybe for business, or you want to study in Italy, or you are just genuinely interested in learning a new language as a hobby - I will be here for you! I tailor my lessons to the level and the requirements of each person, in order to make the learning process quick, interesting and fun! If you prefer, we can also see and analyze together some articles, media or books that you like.

The inspiration for this job came to me while I was a volunteer in Peru, in a small school in the Andes. There, I realized that I enjoyed learning other languages and that I could help others to do so, as I could speak about languages for hours! Since I started working I have never stopped! I looked for and found work in Italy, France and Romania, in different schools and international institution, like the Istituto italiano di cultura og Bucharest.

As a teacher I will teach you to be confident avoiding the fear to making mistakes, which is a crucial component for learning faster. We will practice a lot through conversation which will help you to gain confidence in communicating and understanding Italian in typical “everyday scenarios”, and most important we will learn the Italian language using a cultural approach more than an academic one, without, however, neglecting the study of grammar and pronunciation. Our conversation will be setting in a relaxed environment, as if it was a talk with friends.

After graduating, I have been teaching offline for the past five years. Firstly, I was a tutor for the Italian language certification exams (CELI) at the University of Perugia. I taught to students of all ages, from children to elders, that's why I developed an ability to adapt my teaching method to every student. I am a very patient person because I know how struggling could be to learn a new language. I love teaching and my main goal is to help you to reach your goals!

I like establishing an even relationship with my students, so they can feel more comfortable in conversation with me. Being at ease while learning a foreign language is extremely important because it allows the mind to open and learn with no barriers.

During my stay abroad I have always helped friends who were struggling to learn Italian and now it has become my job. Currently I am giving private lessons of Italian, English and Japanese to students from Elementary school to University and I love it right because every time it is a different challenge.

I came to teach quite by chance. I bumped into a job advert and send through my cv. Unexpectedly, they gave me an interview, which went well so I flew to UK to teach Italian. That was incredible. Since then, I have been specialising in teaching. I have a university degree in science communication, specialises in journalism and I am at the second year of a second degree in languages and foreigh cultures, specialises in English and Spanish.I have got the CEDILS certification which is a certification of competence in teaching Italian as a foreign language or second language. I have also got C1/2 level proficiency certificates in English, Spanish and Japanese (CAE, DELE C2, JLPT2).

I have many years of experience in private teaching with children and adults. Un modo divertente di imparere l'italiano è imparare le canzoni italiane, mi piacciono molto. I am a qualified English teacher but I have now specialised in teaching Italian as a second language and after two years working in two different private schools (teaching English and Spanish) I have started teaching Italian in an Italian institute in Istanbul. My current job involves not only teaching general Italian but also preparing students who want to take one of the Italian official certifications such as CILS, CELI etc.

I have been teaching Italian during an EVS (European Voluntary Service) in Bulgaria for 6 months, for the local people, and I have been also teaching English in Denmark for 7 month during my Teaching Practice in a school for kids with special needs, as part of my pedagogy education. During this period, I had many pedagogical possibilities to witness the importance of preparing a good lesson and always having a back-up plan. Moreover, I also understood how relevant it is to create a good connection with the students and get to know them better in order to make them feel part of the learning process and being in the driving seat of their education.

Ho studiato per 5 anni latino e greco al liceo, dove la grammatica era al centro dell'attenzione, con l'esperienza ho però capito che per iniziare ad apprendere una nuova lingua (cosa che ho sperimentato con l'inglese e lo spagnolo) è importante avere un ruolo attivo nell'apprendimento. In fondo, Leggere libri e siti in italiano non è poi così complicato, Scrivere email e documenti di lavoro già presuppone una maggiore conoscenza della lingua, ma Parlare italiano… beh, è tutta un’altra storia e richiede un approccio ad hoc. Il Listening (l’ascolto della lingua) non basta: se vuoi davvero imparare a parlare in italiano devi fare pratica.

My studies and the work experiences have allowed me to have a cross-disciplinary approach to knowledge and to increase my teaching skills, being able to create a deep connection between me and my students. In 2012, in Curitiba, Brazil, I opened my own school, Corso Brancaleone, where I offered language courses in which, since the first lesson – even for beginners – we followed collaborative study paths on Italian art and history. It was a great experience that made me meet so many people interested in going beyond the common language lessons. Through the programs Italiano+Arte and Italiano+Storia you can learn Italian and at the same time follow a discovery journey into italian history and/or art history. Working with images, maps and videos, we can explore Italy’s fascinating events and cultural heritage while mastering the italian language.
