As a teacher with 5 years of serious study and experience I've been able to use my skills to teach adults, teens and children, English, Turkish and German. Any aspect YOU would like to focus on is within my skillset such as grammar, speaking, writing, listening, reading and vocabulary.I am well acquainted with the challenges and difficulties of the process of language learning. Thus, I have developed effective methods to overcome these difficulties. My goal is to make learning a language exciting and productive!

You can expect me to bring positive energy to the classroom. I will be a good listener in our class. During conversational lessons, I will ask you questions that make you think. For example, "What would you tell your 20-year-old self?" – maybe you will teach me something too:) If you are not interested in having high level conversations, I am not the right teacher for you. For me, every student is special and I prepare every lesson based on your individual needs and goals. I also want to make my lessons fun and I put a lot of work into my students confidence to speak. I have always been tutoring others in languages as it is one of my key talents to explain difficulties to people in a thorough manner. In my experience the biggest problem with learning a language is that the students think they need to get it perfectly right every time they say something. This stops you from talking freely, and makes you fal short of your full potential. In my lessons, I will encourage you to speak without being afraid of making mistakes. I offer different kinds of lessons, some follow a course structure, others are only focused on conversation. Of course it's also possible to mix a structural approach with free speaking.

Ich wollte eine Lehrerin werden, seitdem ich 13 bin. Ich habe mich in zwei Ländern spezialisiert und verschiedene Lernmethoden und Bildungssysteme (Polen, Deutschland, Chile und Argentinien) kennengelernt. I had some freelancer jobs as a translator and teacher already. Furthermore I've learned 4 foreign languages so far (English, French, Spanish, Japanese) and can therefore very well understand the problems beginners are facing when learning a new language. I've also lived in the French speaking part of swiss for more than 3 years. I enjoy teaching people things, especially in languages. I always try to speak slow, clearly and simplify my sentences if I realize the student can't keep up with me. I'm also very patient and give general advice on how to learn a language.

As a teacher, I am just as friendly and relaxed as I am in my everyday life. But I also know when to be serious. I am eager to help you with whatever you are having trouble with, but I definitely believe that the student is responsible for his/her learning in the end. I like to lead the student to the 'correct answer' instead of simply revealing the answers.

I have done a lot of language and linguistics related things at university, and I have worked part-time as a language teacher and tutor since the age of 16, gradually moving into more challenging positions, like teaching German to immigrants and business people, and tutoring university students in Latin and Ancient Greek. I have never formally qualified as a teacher, but I take teaching very seriously - while making it fun and inspiring at the same time! :)

Learning a language should be fun. In my view, the best way to master and enjoy it, is by speaking it. It doesn’t matter, if your grammar is not perfect at the beginning, most important you get the chance to have conversations in the language you learn. People will understand what you want to say, even if the grammar isn’t perfect. Grammar comes with time. This is how I learned having basic conversation in Spanish just after 3 weeks of language school.

My main concern is that you get out of the lessons what you expect and what your goal is.
