My main focus with teaching is to give students confidence in speaking. My lessons are a safe place, where language can be explored as deeply as the students want. I love sharing cultural specifics, use texts as basis for discussions (in general but also in particular about new vocabulary and hard grammar) and tongue twisters for pronunciation. After the lesson the student should feel full and satisfied as if they just enjoyed a great meal. The new material needs to be digested, but already left a taste, so my students feel at bit of progress right away.

I'm experienced in studying foreign languages myself, in school I learned English, French and Spanish. But to be honest, it was not as succesfull as I wished. Later, I found much better methods of language learning than the traditional classromm and I'm teaching myself Russian what I like very much. I'm a very empathic and sensitive person, so I can very well adopt to different people and demands. My focus is on structured conversation training, since this is so essential - and most difficult for many students.

First and foremost I am a learner who enjoys learning languages as a hobby. So I understand the frustrations and challenges faced by students when they try to mesh the theoretical aspects of acquisition with the realities of speaking practice. I have written a language course for those tackling German and my approach with beginners is to introduce new language in a very structured way and to prioritise patterns above vocabulary, at least at the start. For more advanced students I am happy to select materials based on their interests. I always try to put people at ease and believe that learning should be an enjoyable as well as enriching experience.

As a teacher, I am interested in helping you individually. I have been a teacher for over 10 years and I love my job! I have a Master of Education and finished my „Referendariat“ — I graduated in both with honors. I am happy when my students are successful and achieve their goals.

Overcoming difficulties and actually improving your German by actively using it will make you feel more comfortable and confident after a short while and will keep you going in the long run. For all topics I have easy-to-remember explanations (e.g. for the adjective endings), which you will get used to quickly. We will always come back to new subjects and words until you understand them and we will only proceed at your pace. Everything we discuss will be put down in different google docs (chat - contextualization - writing). We will be working on them together.

I was often used to help refine the pronunciation and sentence building of my schoolmates, when I was younger. Thus, I can easily speak slower, with an accent that is easier to understand or use words which are more basic. I have learned a lot on iTalki, until now. I believe my teaching has improved and my system works. I have had complete beginners, thus I feel comfortable with taking the first steps with you. Nonetheless, I am also guiding more advanced students. I’ve had experience in teaching English to Germans at a private tutor school. I've also helped many of my German, French and Japanese friends with their English. This has enabled me to be able to quickly identify problems that non-native speakers might have. I’m currently on my way to becoming a professional linguist to improve my abilities. I have always been tutoring others in languages as it is one of my key talents to explain difficulties to people in a thorough manner. I help students to improve their communicational language skills and work with beginners and with advanced students as well.

After a short period of time in Egypt I was asked by friends and other people if I am teaching german or if I would be able to do so. So I mostly gave (private) conversational lessons as a part time job (for around 3 years). I am currently not teaching beginners or children!
