In September 2020 I started working as a science teacher at an international school, teaching children from the age of 8 to 12. After completing a 120 hour TEFL course, I also started working as a private English tutor for 5 to 12-year-old children. Since I started working as a teacher I realized how much I enjoy teaching and seeing my students make progress. So I decided to start teaching the language that I feel most comfortable with - German.

Ich begann mit dem Unterrichten von Hochdeutsch 2017 während eines Auslandssemesters. Als ich Italki entdeckte, spezialisierte ich mich auf Zürcherdeutsch und helfe seither Einwanderern bei ihrer Integration in der Schweiz. Das Level variiert dabei von Beginnern bis hinzu Fortgeschrittenen. Aus Mangel an guten Unterrichtsmaterialien habe ich im Verlauf der Jahre meinen eigenen Kurs mit einer Vielzahl verschiedener Übungstypen zusammengestellt. Ich biete auch weiterhin Unterricht in Hochdeutsch an und kann eventuell auch bei weiteren Schweizer Dialekten weiterhelfen.

When I was in high school I discovered my passion for helping my classmates with homework and then I decided to bring this to another level and offered tutoring in the following: Biology, Geography, English, French and German. Later when I finished my degree in foreign language correspondence (mainly translation and correspondence in German, English and French) I started traveling a lot and I got to know people from other countries. I have regularly given one on one classes in many different parts of the world where I have traveled to and lived in. It has always given me great pleasure seeing people improve their language skills.

I see myself as a coach more than as a tutor or a teacher. This is because of my extensive experience, where I learned that language learners improve much better if they feel themselves in a secure setting, where they are not judged but counselled, where they can speak openly without limits about whatever crosses their minds. It’s in such a setting where creative and intuitive learning comes into play, which makes the process an enjoyable experience. And this is the point where language learning gets on a track where motivation never lacks, because learning is fun and satisfying. In Germany, I studied Art, Theater and Biology to become a teacher for high school students in these subjects. I completed my second state exam and continued working at different schools with my wish to move abroad and make more experiences in living and teaching far away from my home. Right before I moved, I was working as a teacher for remedial education and particular in teaching German to children with migration background. I was able to find suitable teaching methods for the different types of learning and individual needs to achieve the learning goals with the students together. I am excited to continue teaching in this way and to get to know you.

I taught English, German and Spanish in various circumstances. On the one hand as a private teacher who helps his clients achieve their individual language goals. I was working as a german and alphabetization teacher in Austria during 3 years, wih people of different origins, education,, adolecents and grown ups, slow- and quicklearners.
