My name is Anita, and I am Portuguese. I am a Portuguese and English teacher. I'm a native Portuguese teacher and an experienced and certified English teacher. I'm comfortable teaching different levels and my goal is to make learning fun and useful.

I have worked in an infant, primary, secondary, further education and language academy capacity, teaching both groups and private students. Most recently I have taught online, for business, exams and school. I have a BA (Hons) in Drama Studies, a TESOL certificate and an MA in English Language Teaching. Over the years I have taught general, school, exam and business English. I have prepared students for Cambridge, Anglia and Trinity ESL exams and also students studying for international exams such as SATs and IGCSEs.

I have a B.A in English language and two master's degrees, one in peace and conflict studies and the other in politics. I've worked as an English tutor for 4.5 years- 2 years in the US and 2.5 years in Germany. I can teach beginners as well as advanced students. Students who are at least 10 years old are welcome. I have been teaching for 9 years, since I left university. My degree is in Law, German and French and I have a PGCE teaching degree. I taught in a UK secondary school for 7 years, eventually becoming the Head of Languages in an Academy. I loved the job but it didn't give me any free time, so this is why i decided to leave, travel and work online as I go. I still enjoy teaching just as much and I am available for lessons most days. I'm organised and friendly and will help you to make fast progress and give you lots of confidence.

Simple grammar for sentence structure can't be overlooked. That's a fatal mistake that will set you back years.11 You won't actually be learning the language if you just repeat random sentences over and over instead of understanding why you say what you say. Another way to sabotage your language learning is by not practicing. You need to practice during and after the lesson, making it in a way that doesn't feel like a heavy load in your already busy life. 10 pages of homework is unnecessary. Short and simple does the job. Boring lessons can make you lose your motivation because language learning is one of the learning subjects that can be very fun to learn unlike math.
