• As an alumnus of Babes-Bolyai University, I achieved a degree in Foreign Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics (Japanese Language & Literature, English Language & Literature, Romanian Language & Literature, General Linguistics, Writing Techniques Seminars). • I completed a post-graduation Japanese conversational course at the Cultural Japanese Centre of Babes-Bolyai University. • I have been a full-time language tutor since March 2017, having offered over 4000 Romanian, Japanese and English lessons to students from all over the world (50+ countries) both online and in-person.

As a linguist enthusiast I just love languages in general and I totally understand what one might go through when learning a new language as I'm learning one myself (Italian). So I always put myself in my students' shoes in order to have a complete understanding of their language needs or any difficulties they may have when learning a language.

I have graduated from Petrozavodsk State University with two majors English and Teaching Techniques. As well as this, I have a certificate to teach Russian as foreign language. I have school based experience from Russian and Danish schools. For 8 years I have been working as a private tutor teaching kids and adults, creating special programs for them which would meet their goals and interests, help them improve their language level and prepare for language exams and interviews.

I've been teaching for five years. I want to see the improvement in my student's English speaking and listening skills, lesson after lesson. If I have to repeat the lesson, just to make sure that my student understands and absorbs something, I'm willing to do it. It has been an innate trait of mine to provide patience, encouragement; and also positivity to whomever I'm speaking with.

I know English can be very difficult. From the spelling and pronunciation, to holding a conversation. I also know how it feels to make mistakes and get embarrassed when you make a mistake. I think that providing patience, kindness, and an environment to safely make errors and learn from them is the best way to improve. During my first three years in China I taught at an International school in the south of China, and then at a training school, High school and IELTS training center in the north of China. Since 2014 I have been teaching English at a University, where I primarily teach English majors. Whilst being experienced at teaching at all levels. I have a preference for teaching older students and adults. My teaching style has been described as friendly and focused. I try to offer students freedom and time to express their thoughts uninterrupted. I tend to give corrections after students have completely expressed their ideas. I'm a big fan of Goal-oriented learning, which is a great way for students to build their confidence. With each lesson, there should be an objective, even if that objective is simply to learn new words.

I have seven years experience teaching at top schools around Europe, online, and on the UN-sponsored NGO Peace Boat on which I sailed around the world in 2016 and 2017. As a teacher, I try to personalise my lessons as much as possible so that you learn what you need to, not what I want to teach you. I am really familiar with IELTS, FCE, CAE, and CPE, for example, so we will start with a mock test, so I can find out your strengths and weaknesses, then work hard to build on your strengths and improve your weaknesses. This usually works very well with some successful strategies I have. For conversation or business lessons, we choose topics that are relevant to you, whether it is about problems you have speaking in meetings, or just talking fluently with good pronunciation.
