I have tutored before at several levels - from absolute beginner to business English, both children and adults. I have taught for around 4 years in total, to native speakers of all mother tongues. My method for language learning is not focused on memorising grammar, but rather on making language learning fun. My students and I chat about our day to day lives and problems and debate art and politics. More than students, I call the people I meet on italki friends. Lastly, we can target our lessons for a specific type of spoken English; be it formal or conversational, or about any specific topic.

I studied Teaching English as a Foreign Language when I moved to Turkey and started teaching 3 years ago to 3 to 6 year olds at a private nursery. I also teach private lessons to more advanced students to improve their grammar and conversational skills but I have always enjoyed the beginners more and love watching a student gain satisfaction from learning a new language.

I've been tutoring business related classes in English and Spanish for almost 2 years at university level. My focus has been on accounting and finance. Therefore, I am very well prepared to teach you business Spanish or English. I earned my bachelor's degree in Business Teacher Education in 2013 and graduated with flying colors from one of the top universities in my country. I took and passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers in the same year. I've started my teaching career after graduation, and I'm currently working my way towards earning my master's degree in Education. To further enhance my teaching skills and qualifications, I took a 120-hour TEFL certificate course from an accredited online training provider. As a teacher, I'm friendly, kind, and patient with all my students.

To help you with these two things, after every lesson I will give you building block phrases and pronunciation tips to practice every day. Hello everybody. Welcome to my page. I have been teaching here for three years and the experience has been wonderful. I can't believe how much I have learned about teaching online. I hope we can have a class together one day and you can tell me what you need to become a better speaker. I have a lot of material that I have prepared by myself to help you learn to speak modern American English quickly.

I have been an English and Spanish teacher since 2007 and I have worked in several private and public institutions. I have a bachelor’s degree in English and Spanish teaching from Universidad Pedagogica Nacional and I am currently living in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where I work as an English teacher. I taught English to college students from 2008 to 2015, and I also taught English literature and directed a few language immersions at the universities I worked at. From 2015 to 2018, I lived in Washington DC and worked as a History/Spanish teacher at a bilingual multicultural school where I had the chance to teach students not only from the US but also from Central America, Africa and Asia.

The best way to learn a language is to put it in practice so I expect you, the student to speak more in class. I believe this is very effective for you to be more confident in speaking. I also make sure that in each and every class it will be fun and instructive.

Two years experience as a private tutor for students, small groups, and individuals looking to improve written or spoken English level.

Initially with a new student I would start off with general conversation in order to gauge your specific needs. Once we have determined those needs, with both your own and my input in the discussions I will progress to more structured lesson plans. I am patient, helpful and friendly with a wicked sense of humour... I am not overly sensitive to criticism from students, which makes it a lot easier for students to be comfortable in indicating their personal requirements for learning from me – in fact I aim to learn as much from my students as they learn from me.
