About Me

Hello everyone! My name is Magdalena, I am a polish person who works and studies in Scotland, I obtained my degree in Psychology and Sociology in Edinburgh. I am an eager and active learner with a passion to learn languages. I am proficient in English; I have been also studying Hungarian and Russian for some time. I work as a study assistant and academic mentor, supporting university students with various tasks including learning foreign languages, I find my role extremely rewarding and every success of my students, motivates me to continue sharing my knowledge with other people. I train Taekwondo, read about different customs, traditions, and cultures in my free time.

Me as a Teacher

I am a very patient, understanding and non-judgmental teacher, my knowledge of Psychology helps me to create a supportive, motivating, and friendly environment for my students. Moreover, I am not only taking into consideration my students’ aims in terms of learning a language but their lifestyle and personality. I believe that finding a ‘middle ground’ where students can feel challenged but not overwhelmed with information about new language is extremely important, especially in hectic everyday life.

My lessons & teaching style

My lessons are personalised, I tailor them considering student’s level, aims, needs and lifestyle. I like to create a study plan together with my students and provide them with study aids such as presentations, word documents, articles and videos which are related to their interest. I believe that focusing on students’ interests is extremely helpful as it creates fun and motivating environment.
