About Me

My name is Trevin. I'm American, but I've been living in Florence, Italy and teaching English since 2015. I grew up hiking and riding horses through the mountains of Montana. I majored in Engineering and minored in Music in college. I have a passion for traveling, experiencing new cultures and cuisines, and learning languages; I recently reached a personal goal of visiting every continent at least once! My other hobbies and interests include cinema and literature, sports, history... We can talk about anything!

Me as a Teacher

I earned my TEFL certificate in 2015, and I've been teaching at a private language school in Florence ever since. I have taught students or all levels from a wide variety of backgrounds. I also have a lot of experience in test preparation--my specialties are the TOEFL and the SAT, but I also have experience with iELTS, TOEIC, Cambridge exams, ACT, GMAT, and GRE.

My lessons & teaching style

I want you to be comfortable, relaxed, and enjoy yourself, so I'm fairly informal and very friendly as a teacher. I believe students learn better when they're having fun!

Work Experience

TeacherAmerican Language School - Florence, ItalyI have taught General English, Business English, and Test Preparation for individual students and for groups of up to 20 students, with levels ranging from beginner to native speakers. The exams I'm most familiar with are SAT, ACT, and TOEFL, but I also have some experience with iELTS, iTEP, TOEIC, GMAT, and GRE.
