About Me

My name is Phoebe. I am a 22-year-old residing in Cape Town, the city that I was born in and where I have lived for my entire life. I am a native English speaker and an avid reader with a love of the English language. Some of my other interests are writing, music, art, and film. Some of the values that I adhere to are those of open-mindedness, loyalty, and resilience. Another value that I hold is that of compassion, and this is something I act on through regular volunteer work. I am a hard-working, dedicated individual who is disciplined in all of her endeavours.

Me as a Teacher

I am practiced in learning and teaching through an online platform, a skill that was developed and demonstrated through my independent homeschooling for the latter part of high school including my final year. I am discerning and detail-oriented. This is to my benefit when considering choice of wording and grammatical structure. Earlier this year I also attained a TEFL certificate via an online institution.

My lessons & teaching style

My lesson style can vary depending on what works for each individual student. I am able to plan lessons that are structured, using worksheets and other teaching materials. I can also carry out lessons that are more relaxed and conversational.
