About Me

My name is Michael. I am from the United States and have been teaching English for several years. I started as an English writing tutor at my university in the U.S. and have since received professional training with the Trinity College London CertTESOL qualification. I am very interested in different cultures and a variety of international issues. I had the privilege to study abroad in Japan while in college, and hope to visit other countries in the near future. I enjoy talking about media, travel, exercise, movies, politics/economics and many other topics.

Me as a Teacher

Everyone can remember a teacher in their lives that impacted them positively. A good impression from a teacher can be just as important as learning the subject itself. I want to create a relaxed environment where students will not feel stressed or worried about practicing their English. I am very flexible and can teach many different aspects of English. Writing, grammar, reading, exam preparation, interview preparation, or just free talking.

My lessons & teaching style

I believe it is very important that the student learns about what he or she is interested in. Students can message me before a lesson with any materials or topics they want to cover and I will try my best to accommodate. My lessons can include anything from free talking to covering an exam or grammar concept.
