About Me

italki teacher since Feb 2, 2021

Good-humoured, patient and attentive teacher originally from the south coast of England. Lived and worked in London for many years as an actor and an English teacher to speakers of other languages in private language schools, corporate businesses and universities. Currently living in Berlin where I teach English and yoga and also learn German in my free time. Qualifications include a Bachelors degree in Music, a Masters degree in Acting, a TESOL certificate and a 200-hour yoga teacher training certificate. Accomplished singer, pianist and songwriter.

Me as a Teacher

Extensive experience of teaching English as a foreign language and English for academic purposes, creating fun and engaging lessons with clear objectives. Taught adults and adolescents general English and business English courses using a variety of communicative approaches. Successfully prepared students for CAE, FCE, IELTS, TOEFL and TOEIC exams with an outstanding pass rate. Developed skills in organization and leadership, successfully communicating to different nationalities and age groups.

My lessons & teaching style

Offering creative, engaging lessons in three areas: General English - improving your fluency, pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary and your reading, writing and listening skills. Exam preparation - specific focus on passing an exam such as IELTS, TOEFL, FCE or CAE using relevant tasks and strategies to achieve your objective. Business English - focus on job-related vocabulary, improving your interview technique, helping you to prepare for a presentation or to write your CV.
