Hello! My name is Ji-young Kim, You can call me Ji. I was born in South Korea. I am a native speaker who speaks standard Korean. In 2017, I couldn't read or speak English. However, I moved to Canada to work in 2018. I learned to speak English in a year and I believe you can speak Korean too. It's very exciting to be able to share my language study experiences with you. This class is to be an introduction to Korean and to help you communicate what you want to say in Korean. nice to meet you! 안녕하세요. 제 이름은 김지영입니다. 저는 한국에서 태어났고, 2017년에 처음 영어 공부를 시작하여 2018년부터는 캐나다에서 생활 중입니다. 영어로 기본적인 문장으로 쓰지도 말하지도 못했던 저의 경험을 바탕으로 여러분이 한국말을 이해하고 공부하는데 도움을 드리고 싶습니다.

Me as a Teacher

While living in Canada I have given and continue to give personal Korean lessons to my spouse and friends helping them grasp the basics of the common language. 캐나다에서 생활하는 동안 저의 배우자와 가족, 친구들에게 한국어를와 문화를 알려주고 이해하도록 도와주는 일에 보람을 느꼈습니다.

My lessons & teaching style

The goal of the lessons will be to encourage the student to speak in Korean during class as much as possible. Various materials mostly intended for younger audiences will be used. Various exercises will be practiced in class to cover vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation and other foundations. Materials will be derived from various sources including books, songs, movies etc. 가능한 한 수업 중에는 한국어로 말하도록 격려하는 것이 목표입니다. 제가 준비한 책, 음악, 드라마, 영화나 만화 또는 최신 이슈, 관심사 등으로 진행될 예정입니다. 제 수업의 목표는 여러분들이 각자 가지고 있는 언어적 두려움을 극복하고, 어휘,문법,발음을 기본적으로 자신감 있게 말하며 대화할 수 있도록 도와드리는 것입니다. 수업중이나 끝난 후에 모르는 것이 있다면 언제든지 메시지 보내주시면 됩니다.

지영 선생님은 되게 훌륭한 선생님입니다! 준비를 항상 잘하고 제가 모르는 단어 있을 때 선생님은 자세한 설명을 해줍니다. 노래와 드라마로서 연습을 만들어서 한국인들 자주 쓰이는 표현을 잘 알 수 있는 수업인 것 같습니다. 보통 때와 같이 시간을 알차게 보냈습니다!
