About Me
italki teacher since Nov 7, 2011
When it comes to hobbies, hiking, travelling, tennis comes to mind first. I love being outdoors but also enjoy lingering over a coffee and a good book at home. I'm also interested in everything having to do with food and I usually cook quite a bit at home but go for tapas and dine out quite often too. When it comes to music, I like listening to everything these days but my favourite genres are jazz and folk music from Scandinavia. I like meeting from around the world, most of my friends are English speakers so that's basically how I learned the language when people ask. I'm currently learning French, Norwegian and Italian but it depends on the time I have.
Me as a Teacher
Both my parents were teachers so I guess teaching is in my blood. Whenever a student reaches a goal, speaks fluently or passes an exam, it makes me so happy and so proud of him/her. It's as simply (or complicated) as that. As a student of many other languages I know the struggles the students go through, so my job is not only teaching the language per se but also identifying these obstacles and help the students tackle them
My lessons & teaching style
I've been using Google Drive (Google docs and so on) since 2011 and I still love it. I have my own material and my own method but I keep improving and redoing all my exercises for my students benefit. I also work with different books depending on the students level and I can provide with useful stuff (such as videos, audios) regarding Spanish

I have been studying Spanish for many years and have tried many different teachers and methods of learning the language. Now I've been working with Andres for two years and I can confidently say that he really is the best language teacher I've ever had. In addition to being great at his job and explaining everything very clearly, he also has a talent for adjusting his teaching style to the student. He will figure out your level, your interests, whether you prefer a more formal or relaxed style of teaching and will adjust to you. I'm so grateful to have found him! Muchisimas gracias Andres!

Thank you very much Andrés for this week's lessons. It has cleared up some confusions from my self study and I have also learned so many new structures and expressions. On top of that, as a language teacher myself, I also learned a lot from your teaching techniques, such as how you use 'scaffolding' to support students to become more and more independent. You are excellent. Thanks again.

I've been taking lessons with Spanish Tutor for over two years and am still enjoying them immensely! We continue to strengthen my conversational skills and building vocabulary. Today we continued discussing various ways used to describe similar situations or items.

Gracias por tus buenísimos ejercicios, es la mejor manera de conocer España profundamente. Espero ser capaz de usar estos términos y de hablar con fluidez. A ver qué pasa en Madrid Open... ¡Buen finde!
