About Me

My name is Mara Ingea, I am from Lebanon where I grew up and went to the French school. Since I was a child, I have been exposed to both Lebanese and French culture, as Lebanon is a place where oriental and occidental cultures meet. I am now living in Prague, Czech Republic. I am following a master degree in directing of alternative theater. I am interested in all types of arts, in sports (I also am an experienced horseback rider), I love to travel and discover new cultures. I am quite curious by nature, always try to find something interesting in whatever crosses my way.

Me as a Teacher

As a teacher, I teach in the same way I would like to be taught when learning. I rely mostly on my own experience in learning new languages. I have different levels in the different languages I speak, which makes it easier for me to adapt the lessons to the level of the student since I know how it is to be at their stage of learning. I am patient and don't mind repeating a same things as many times as necessary for it to be understood. I believe that the most efficient way of learning is by practicing as much as possible without being afraid of making mistakes, because it is through them that we learn.

My lessons & teaching style

My lessons are based on discussions that can be supported by different types of texts. They are based on chosen topics of interest. The lessons are personalized, as everyone has different aims and different ways of learning. They could include: - Discussion about a chosen topic, with a focus on the vocabulary related to it; - If desired, reading and writing short texts or sentences related to the topic; - The use of documents such as images, extracts from novels or comic books, newspaper articles, poems; - If desired, homework could consist of reading and/or writing a short text or phrases. All lessons will be prepared nin advance, as we can agree everytime on the next topic to discuss.
