About Me

Hey there. My name is Joana and I live in Rio Grande do Sul - a very beautiful state in Brazil. I started studying English in 2012 and I fell in love with this beautiful language. On the other hand, I also love Portuguese, which is my native language, and I think that we have a lot of interesting expressions in each state of Brazil. I enjoy having everyday conversations about our Brazilian culture, about music, about movies, or about other things you may be interested in.

Me as a Teacher

As a community tutor here at Italki I want to help you improve your Portuguese. You can feel free to make mistakes because I truly understand how challenging it is to learn a new language. Furthermore, Portuguese is a complex language because of its pronunciation and grammar rules. But I can assure you it is not impossible to achieve fluency in Portuguese. I am here to help you get this.

My lessons & teaching style

My classes will focus on the topics you want to improve and you can feel free to tell me what you want to talk about in each class. If you choose just to talk about something, we will have relaxing conversations and we can practice using dialogs and exercises. But if you choose a specific grammar topic, I will bring materials, such as texts or audio materials for us to focus on the topic you brought.
