About Me

Bonjour :) My name is Anthony and I am a French native speaker with no regional accent. I was born and raised in southern France, and I lived in Paris for about ten years before moving to London in 2012. I have been teaching French for a few years at the INSTITUT FRANCAIS in London, both online and in the classroom. I have many areas of interests, including reading (classics, philosophy, non-fiction), language learning (I speak/learn eight languages at the moment) and physical activities (climbing, parkour, running, yoga...). Lastly, I am also active on YouTube (you may listen to me speaking other languages on my channel "Explore French").

Me as a Teacher

- I'm super patient! My only objective will be to help you progress; - I use the communicative approach, so you will be active during the whole class; - Activities will aim at developing both your accuracy and your fluency in French; - I will provide you with the required documents prior to each class; - For extra practise outside of the class, I will provide you with homework to prepare; - Each class will last one FULL hour.

My lessons & teaching style

TRIAL LESSON - The trial lesson focuses on speaking/listening; - The objective is to evaluate your level and understand your objectives, if any. GENERAL FRENCH - A1 (Beginner) to B2 (Upper-Intermediate); - Lessons are based on the excellent series of textbooks "Défi"; - You will work on all 4 skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing); - New grammar and vocabulary items will be introduced in context based on communicative activities; - Activities about pronunciation and phonetics will help you soften your accent; - We will cover a wide variety of topics based on contemporary issues in the French-speaking world. CONVERSATIONAL FRENCH - A2 (elementary) to B2 (upper-intermediate).
