About Me

Hello! My name is Amanda. I grew up and am currently living in Montreal, Canada. English is my first language and I am fluent in French. Growing up in the French-speaking province of Quebec, I learned French in school. Therefore, I understand what it is like to be a learner of this language and know the best ways to speed up this process as well as making it fun and engaging. I won the Governor General of Canada's Award for being the top student at my educational institution in all subjects, including French. As well as being passionate about teaching languages, my other passions include reading and photography.

Me as a Teacher

As a teacher, I will tailor my lessons towards you. What are your goals and objectives? Once we've established that, we can start towards making those goals a reality. If you want to practice conversational skills, practice your vocabulary, understand different French accents, learn about French culture and more, I am here to help you. As I was a learner of French in my past, I understand the struggles for learners of all levels with this language and know the best ways to ensure you feel as comfortable as possible in speaking, writing and reading in French.

My lessons & teaching style

My goal as a teacher is to help you as a student reach your language goals. Whether it be that you want to learn French to practice for an exam, for a resume, for fun or any other reason, I am here to help you reach that goal. In our lessons, I can provide you with the videos/information that we will cover before the lesson so that you are well prepared and know what to expect. I can also provide you with homework and little exercises to do in between our lessons to become more independent and improve. I look forward to seeing you soon.
