About Me

I live with my young family in a little village in Manchester (England). I am a native English speaker with plenty of teaching experience. I recently spent two years teaching English at Manchester's EF International school to students from all over the world of all ages and abilities. I also taught English for a year in Spain, both as a tutor to individual students and in a Spanish secondary school. Before this I worked as a tutor in various places in England. I have a degree in English Language and Literature from Newcastle University, a CELTA qualification in teaching English from Manchester Academy of English and a Masters degree in Anthropology from University College London.Me as a Teacher
I aim to be friendly and helpful in my lessons. I hope that you will enjoy the lesson while your English improves. I am an experienced teacher and I always try to make my lessons varied and interesting. I will help to develop your fluency and communication skills; at the same time I'll work to identify particular areas of your English to improve together through error correction and more focussed exercises.
Just a quick note - I don't have teaching materials for children so if you are looking for a tutor for a child please find someone who is more of a specialist in teaching children. My lessons & teaching style
I like to offer my students a range of different options. I can help you with this by identifying areas for improvement. Normally my students like to have a mix of different types of lessons. A typical student might want a fluency lesson one week, followed by a grammar lesson on a topic of their choice, then a vocabulary lesson. However, if you want to focus more on one thing, for example if you just want conversation practise, I'm happy to do that.
