¡Hola, soy Yan González! Soy mexicana, tengo 26 años y soy comunicadora. I have always been passionate about the language, not only the improvement of my mother tongue, but also the learning of new languages. That is why I have a complete perspective of teaching and studying, since I have had the experience of learning and detecting what are the best ways to stay motivated. Throughout my professional career I have had to keep myself updated on the proper use of Spanish, so it is a language that I know and constantly improve. I really enjoy traveling and photography, I like to learn about new cultures, so I will be delighted to share about mine.

Me as a Teacher

For two years I have taught English with adults and it is an activity that I enjoy very much, since it allows me to keep learning constantly. As a teacher I like to generate a nice environment, where students feel confident to speak and express their opinions. I have also had the opportunity to be a Spanish tutor with foreigners, mainly with people at the basic level.

My lessons & teaching style

I like to generate interactive sessions, in which students can constantly practice the topics dynamically. I usually work with an inductive method, which consists in generating knowledge together, where through examples and activities we can clarify what are the rules and the correct form of the language, before reviewing grammar and structures. I believe that through visual examples you can strengthen vocabulary and generate conversations. I always try to make the sessions different, so that interest in learning is maintained and all the skills necessary for language appropriation can be put into practice.

I’ve had many lessons now with Yan and she is a great teacher. When asked to focus on certain topics she comes prepared with her own Google docs for you to use and also she is great for just conversation. Very patient and easy to talk to and gives corrections for pronunciation and suggestions on how to say what I’m trying to say better. I’ve now bought 4 packages with her and will continue to do so. I highly recommend Yan as a teacher you won’t be disappointed!
