About Me
italki teacher since Jul 11, 2019
Hello!
My name's Oksana. I'm in love with teaching the languages. Besides that, I'm a keen traveller and language learner (now I'm learning Italian and Mandarine Chinese). I love music and play the piano. Moreover, I enjoy reading books. The motto of my life is "Live and Learn! And Never Say Die!"
Me as a Teacher
As a teacher, I pay a lot of attention to my professional developent (participating in various training programs and presenting at international conferences) in order to help my students to reach their goals as soon as possible and with joy. My teaching purpose is to equip my students with necessary vocabulary on a certain topic and appropriate grammar patterns, and, of course, introduce new foreign cultural concepts. I encourage my students to progress and have a good command of English as an effective tool for reaching out due to it may help open new vistas for them, immerse into foreign culture, understand a foreign society and become many-sided persons.
My lessons & teaching style
My lessons are very dynamic and result-oriented. In accordance with my teaching practice the most relatable to me is The Communicative and Direct Approaches. I incorporate information gaps and sequencing activities during my classes to develop communication skills of my students. I find role plays and language games very practical because they increase students’ engagement. Moreover, I consider visual aids effective in language teaching and learning because they help to convey meanings of the concepts and remember the material. In additon, I develop critical and creative thinking, emotional intellignce (EQ). In the end of the course I enjoy role reversal to make my students more confident.
