About Me

My name is Sean Bouland and I am a Franco-American now living in Lyon, France. I am originally from Phoenix, Arizona and was born and raised in the United States. My passions include playing soccer (football), traveling, discovering new cultures, and meeting new people. In my free time I am a soccer (football) coach in my local club in Nice, France and I also participate in a community service club called the Leo Club in Nice. People would characterize me as a very zealous and energetic person. I have a lot of passion for the things I do in life and I believe this passion sets me apart from the rest.

Me as a Teacher

As a teacher, I really try to provide and encourage a good learning atmosphere in my classes. I am a very relaxed teacher and I enjoy laughing, discussing, and learning about my student's lives. I believe this atmosphere helps students to not only learn English better, but it also encourages them to enjoy the process of learning English. I try to work with my students in accomplishing their language goals, and get them as involved as possible in their success.

My lessons & teaching style

My teaching style is very focused and involved. I not only teach my students English concepts, but also strategies in order to help them be successful outside the classroom. I can help my students with whatever specific language goals they have, whether that is to have a wider range of vocabulary to express themselves, increase their ability to understand business meetings, or even to participate in small talk with another colleague. I have personal experience in many domains, including business, hospitality, sports, and tourism that I use to teach my students the language they need. Each of my lessons are focused on each student's needs in order to help them achieve their language goals.
