Super lesson. We talked about what I did yesterday. I studied, and will study more today and tomorrow before taking a test. We talked a little about talking with my daughter. Then we continued in the Genki book. I had difficulty reading hiragana, but with help, made it through the conversations. We stopped on page 84, which begins the vocabulary for the section.

Good lesson. We talked about what I had for breakfast, then about what my daughter said in Japanese, which was stripes and hair. Then I asked about the letter は and realized I had been saying おはよう wrong ever since I learned it many years ago. We talked about drivers licenses and then cars for a while. Comparing the big difference in the cost of foreign cars, like Volkswagen, in the US versus Japan. The Japanese cars were similarly priced in the US and Japan. We talked briefly about the cars we currently own and housewives. At the end I talked about a few of the jobs my mom and dad had.

Very good lesson. We talked about what the best thing that happened this week. Then a lot about the Duolingo application that I use on my phone. After the we talked about what my daughter said and what I misheard her say. Like, “Be-Bong”, which her mom said was a “Bow Tie”. The Japanese word for Bow Tie sound nothing like “Be-Bong”, but something that looks like a Bow Tie is a bow for a girl’s hair which is called a リボン in Japanese, or ribbon in English. In English ribbon is the string itself, not how it is tied, like in a bow. We covered a lot of vocabulary for household items, which my son mentioned I should learn.
