About Me

My name is Mina, and I'm a university student majoring in genetics and bioengineering. I really enjoy writing, drawing, traveling, and meeting new people. I’ve been a tutor since my junior year in high school and it makes me joyous that I can be able to help someone. I can also speak Bosnian/Serbian/Croatian, besides I also took the Latin language, and even though it’s reckoned as an ’extinct’ language, I find it truly stunning. I’ve been also studying the French language for almost two years and recently I found a keen interest in the Chinese language and I look forward to proceeding to study it too!

Me as a Teacher

As a tutor in languages I really try to think through and evaluate on what my goals and priorities are in the classroom. I believe the most relevant aspects that I want to bring to my students are calming and judgmental-free atmosphere where student can feel comfortable to talk and let the chatter flow guilelessly, and also to motivate and help them through the obstacles in the language terminology and speech.

My lessons & teaching style

My teaching style would include auditory and visual. As I believe that by mastering and using as many learning styles as I can, I will be able to make sure that each student will be able to get the most out of their learning experience. As a patient tutor, I do understand that for every individual it takes different techniques and different learning skills and understanding a different approach in each lesson that is the goal of to benefit the student. Not only I find it important to use different learning styles but also I will make sure to get to know my students’ interests as it will be one of the discussed topics during the lesson.
