About Me

Hello! My name is Karolina, I am a teacher of Russian, Ukrainian up to C2 level and English up to B1 level. I am a native speaker of Russian and Ukrainian, so you can be sure that you can learn all the subtleties of the language with me. At the moment, I am a final year student at the Faculty of Philosophy at the Taras Shevchenko University. My main research interests are language, semiotics, logic, epistemology, and cognitive sciences. I have been teaching for 3 years, and I can confidently say that teaching is my great hobby and favorite job! I also teach extra classes for children at school, so I have experience in teaching.

Me as a Teacher

I am a person who always supports and understands, but also motivates you to do your homework, which is very important for the results. I will be very happy to study with you and I also love it when my students become my friends because my task as a teacher and this is scientifically confirmed, for example, by such a psychological phenomenon as the Pygmalion or Rosenthal effect, not only to teach but to give support and self-confidence, since positive expectations of the teacher for the student have greater results. And I always believe in my students!

My lessons & teaching style

As a teacher, I support a communicative approach to language learning. The main focus of teaching is the practice of speaking and listening, but the basis of grammar is also very important, so these are 3 elements around which most of my lessons are built. Of course, we also practice reading and writing, as well as vocabulary, but it makes no sense if a person cannot understand or answer his interlocutor. My lessons will be rich and interesting. Together we will be able to choose interesting videos, series, books, as well as textbooks that will become our friends in learning. We will act out role-playing situations, dialogues, use various auxiliary exercises, and tools that lead to our goal!
