About Me

I am an American English Tutor from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. I have learned and practiced Spanish through studying and working abroad in Spain, in addition to working as a legal assistant at an immigration law firm in Minnesota. I am currently a first-year law student at the University of Michigan (go Blue!). Although I look forward to teaching to your hobbies, mine are soccer, philosophy, mindfulness, e-sports, travelling, language-learning and working out. Me as a Teacher

I have the following work experience teaching: -I have been teaching on Italki since February, 2019, and have taught students of all ages! - From 2018-2019 I was an English Classroom Assistant in Ourense, Spain. In my work, I taught children English and provided aid to English teachers in the classroom. In the community, I taught children, teens, and adults through individualized private lessons. - As a legal assistant, I taught Spanish-speaking clients complicated immigration processes in the attempt to help them have successful cases. This involved translating documents and interpreting for clients, in addition to helping them prepare legal documents and affidavits in English.

My lessons & teaching style

My classes will be based on conversation and answering particular student questions about English. I can adapt my classes to the need. Additionally, I will utilize articles/songs/media when students show interest or I think it will add to the class. Please note: trial lessons are for us to have a conversation and for me to gauge your English level. All professional help (i.e. interview prep, email drafting, essay revising) MUST be done through a regular lesson. Thank you for your understanding

Teacher’s pick

The lesson was perfect. It was pleasure to know James. We found a lot of common topics to discuss about. I was speaking most part of the lesson and that was great. At the end of the lesson I was said about my most noticeable common mistakes about which it is useful to know to correct in the future.
